Here is a story that just happened in with the hour.

There is a cat outside that is living under our porch (again) we are trying to get him in to give him a home (As with the last one) -- Truly putting Alot of effort in, opening can food by where it sleeps twice a day, putting water out etc...

Well anyways we were just on our way to the convenience store -- decide RANDOMLY to check our fluids (Once a five yr occasion probably) -- That little kitty was in the engine and woulda been smoke had we started that car.

The odds of opening the hood that time ---- an accumulation of events like this is what holds together my believing in the divine. And you know faith.

After a certain amount of those accumulate you really gotta wonder.

Btw saw an eagle almost as close as you could get - was dead in the middle of the road and reluctant to get up (Had roadkill) Still was beautiful (and very large) they do have very damn piercing eyes and he actually flew behind our car for a short second. (he/she may have been pissed we interrupted dinner lol) --That is not the same thing at all but still a worthy mention.

Here is a more dramatic one -- hypothetically in a universe near ours there were poachers on the property -- like heavy and close firing off near the home. So I go and chase them off of the property --- while chasing them I fall into a bog in cold weather and frankly am sinking fast. I manage to grab hold of a tree and I am screaming for help. Nobody heard me.

We did not have a phone line at the time --- my mother saw I wasn't inside (Not that unusual *all jokes aside*) but for some reason feels the urge to jet to the gas station and call 911. "I was overtaken by terror I cannot explain it" is what she said

Sure as shit they had to pry my dumb ass out of the muck/bog which they were very amazed I got as far into as I did and found something to grab onto. They kept asking me what I rode into the bog --- Def was on foot guys. (honestly no reason to lie here)

Here is one that happened to me. When my husband and I were younger he had to go on short term disability at his job because of an injury, and his checks were really small. I was working but we have four kids and our grocery bills were high and we couldn’t keep up. We started wracking up credit card debt and I was just making the minimum payments.

This went on for several months and we kept getting further behind. I would lay awake trying to figure out how we were going to get by. The biggest credit card bill came in and I put it in a drawer unopened.

That particular month we had several things go wrong, car repairs etc. and when it came time to pay the credit card bills I realized there was no way we had the money. I was having an anxiety attack thinking about it because the minimum payment had gotten up to several hundred dollars.

I hadn’t even looked at the biggest bill yet so I got it out and opened it and, honestly, it said under minimum amount due: “You can skip a payment this month”

I had never seen it say that before in my life and have never seen it since. Of course I’m sure we had to pay a lot in interest to skip the payment but we just didn’t have the money. I just sat on the couch staring at it.

We still had the debt, my husband was still off work, we were still broke, but I felt like God was telling me he saw me.

My mother had just passed at 58 .A picture magnet of her on the fridge fell,I didn't pay any mind, shit happens, the next day a photo on a stand near my front door fell, glass cracked,I was well thats odd,but maybe a draft, though there were lighter picture frames closer to the door.I tell my wife about the last two days. She says ,you're just holding onto the notion that she is still with you ( in the kindest way possible) I too am not into ghosts ,spirits mumbo jumbo deal either so I chocked it up to coincidence. I shit you not, wife and I were laying in bed ,we had a huge mirrored shelf above the back board, filled with sentimentals ,knick knacks and a very heavy pewter framed photo of my mother and wife together hugging fell and hit her on the head the following evening .Its the little things ,yah know? :lolsign:

I got a couple more similar to those two -

Once I am heading to metro on a run, I am literally 20 dollars short on many hundreds of dollars they are going to cut me out of the damn run for 20 bucks. I go to the store to break a hundred - the corner store I always go to. New worker -- rude AF. I hand her the 100 she hands me 6 20's -- I go "You handed me 6 back" and almost before I could finish she starts rasing her voice about how I can't do math and there are 6 20s in a hundred and while she is doing it her manager hears and is standing behind her looking at me blankfaced. I am about to open my mouth again -- the manager holds up 1 finger to not -- I don't. Never saw her again (fired I presume she really layed into me and was wrong); successful run.

There was another time I found 4k in a bank envelope in my room when I was way behind on everything and this one I chalk up to my own idiocy but it really came in helpful.

I had a best friend - same age when I was younger. He straight betrayed me and my house ended up getting raided -- later in life he tried to send a fruit basket and do what he could to make up for it. I blew him off basically. The night he died (Under 40) My mother looks at me and says "Name, One of your friends passed, IDK who but they were close" --- I knew he was having health problems so checked it out and sure enough that was the night his wife pulled his FB after he passed.
(WOW!)

I was once sitting in the backseat of a vehicle in the forest and me and a buddy saw a dollar on the floor at the same time and reached for it --- same time my other stupid friend accidentally fires his compound bow through those same windows! at least one of us if not both would have got it.

They start to pile up!

Though this doesn't change my view on "the divine" it's a wonderful story. Thanks for sharing.

I gave up believing in god or higher power, I do not believe an entity is invested in my wellbeing. I'm just a puny speck in the universe, I doubt I am worthy of such attention. I believe our life force navigates us in and out of circumstances and our intuition navigates us through situations.
It's not luck, it's who we are.

The universe, god, nature, wu wei, maya, whatever you want to call it... it does seem intelligent. I don't know where the intelligence comes from, but it appears responsive.

I love the mystery of the whole thing, especially when events like those happen. It feels magical.

Oh I am not trying to convert people --- that is wrong in my book. Coincidence -- maybe/probably -- they do start to add up though. (Not that their are not coincidences that go the other way and "Reallly what were the odds of that landing on me?")

More just food for thought

Excellent thread. There’s been a couple of really good threads and I really need the time to respond cause I feel like I have a lot to say. Just currently at a loss for time. However, the content of the threads keep me going. :-)

Here is a riddle for you -- it is hitting 50s 40s F at night and I gotta get that kitty inside if I hope to keep it alive --- it is apparently small and goofy enough to go for in a warm engine so I can't say the odds are great...

Never the less, Ideas for baiting a kitten? (Not to sidetrack my own thread -- please keep the hits coming!)

The last one I had a good year to gain its trust and put food outside on the porch every day and it saw me. I have been doin that for the kitten --- the kibbles dissapear but I have all manner of wildlife. (Something tells me its the kitten, most animals don't seem keen on cat food? Prefer garbage lol)

You have to become a part of kitty's environment without trying to engage with it. Which means, stay around where it is a lot, doing whatever you please that's not scary for it.
Food alone won't do the trick.

Great answer. I feed it twice a day right outside the porch and kind of do the "here kitty kitty" thing while it is eating so it is aware I exist and have some correlation to the food (hopefully).

I try and keep the area dimly lit -- but we do have coyotes and stuff so I don't wanna spotlight it.

I know the truth is the odds are not in my favor here but we do what we can! Any other suggestions directly from the art of war? I speak that language haha --- any other suggestions I speak English okay (It is my only language)

I watched this morning how my dogs and the dog from across the street interacted in an environment where they felt unobserved by humans. I don't know what their issue was, but the way they moved and communicated shoved that they are much much smarter than most humans think.
This makes me believe that we are "not alone". And that talk about aliens and first encounters is futile unless it's under the premise that we might not recognize extraterrestrial life forms even if they bit us in the nose. Most humans can't understand other species on our own planet. How are we supposed to understand aliens?

I still don’t know what it means but I had an encounter with a blue jay that I can’t explain. I was thinking about blue jays, which I have always thought of as the most beautiful birds (even though they can be mean sometimes.) I was also thinking of my grandmother who always had blue jays in her yard. (Ironically she hated them because they wouldn’t let the other birds eat at the bird feeder.) At that moment I heard a loud cawing at my kitchen window which continued until I opened the curtain. A blue jay was sitting outside my window with holly in its mouth and was looking directly at me, then flew away.

I’ve never seen a blue jay in my yard either before or after that, even though I tried to attract them after that with peanuts. We also don’t have holly in our yard.

It’s been driving me crazy because I don’t know what it meant. Has anyone had a similar experience with an animal or nature?

The fact that we exist at all, that any of this exists at all... is so strange in and of itself, that it's not really all that weird to think that there might be more out there.

One time when I was 12... I saw a kitten wandering around town. Very cute one.

I picked him up & took him home with me, but my mom didn't wanna deal with another cat, so I kept it in my room. Named him Wootle.

But when I woke up in the morning, I noticed he had puked up worms all over my bed. Not sure what kind, they looked like little thin transparent spaghetti noodles.

I was so grossed out (I can't stand worms or anything like a worm) and had to put the kitten back outside.

I still tried to feed it outside for awhile. But I can't remember what ever happened to it. I was only 12 though, so it wasn't like I could take the cat to the vet myself or anything (we lived in a small WI town with a population of 100 people, so the nearest vet was probably 45+ mins away anyway). But I also didn't wanna catch worms or something. lol

Not sure why I'm sharing this. But I'm glad you opened your hood when you did! More people need to check for animals under their hoods once in awhile. Rodents will try & nest in there as well.
