Little nervous about pain from IV site

Hi all. So last weekend my hubby and I tried IV for the first time. We read tons of forums all over the interest and talking to sister who's been an IV of H for years. We followed all the safety measures to a t but we did have a lot of trouble with finding veins. At least I did! I had to poke around many many times before finding a spot.

So 7 days later we still have reg old black n blues but I have a spot where I can see a pinhole that is a little blue. Right under it I feel something there and it's painful to touch. Feels like a 1/4 sized tic tac there. Other then little bluish color you can't see anything on the skin or under it unless you press.

My hubby's spot is more like a little mosquito bite that you scratch and looks like spread out from starching it too hard. I can a small bump but there is no color change and he has no pain.

So who should be worried here? We've done ice packs and put heating pads on our spots. Are we in danger? Again we had all new stuff and were alone. What could've gone wrong? Should we get micron filters instead of cotton? If I look to buy them since they are legal to have what am I looking for filter wise. What size?

Also since it was our first time I think we missed a lot and are covered in black n blues. He's more married about the black n blues since warm weather is coming.

Advice?

Well tracks come along with the territory. Is it hot to the touch? As far as HR UTFSE. If its hot to the touch and you have a fever and it gets bigger and bigger than yeah. As far as bruises, not in my opinion. But seriously my advice is not to shoot dope. If you hate bruises your really gonna hate track marks, colapsed veins, abcesses, going to jail/prison, fighting your SO over a tiny bit of dope, getting strung out, getting fired, dying, the list goes on.

You probably slipped out of the vein, which is due to bad technique, applying force to the entire syringe instead of just the plunger while injecting. You're likely not in danger from the slight problems you've encountered from your first use, but prepare for destruction of your entire lives if you continue on the same path.

Just my 2c.

Ya I know :(. The pain has lessened and not gotten bigger or feels hot. So yes first time mishaps. I don't want to do this. I don't know why I did it. Wanna to feel a different feeling but it's a bad deal all around.

What happened was... you have no clue what you're doing and you fucked yourself up. Hah.

Misses, improper penetration, rough vein fishing, improper tourniquet use, etc, all lead to more damage. With correct technique, your tracks should be nothing more than little tiny red dots, thats it. Heavy bruising, lumps, pain, etc, (unless you're IV'ing a lot everyday for a very long time) comes from bad technique and practices.

I recommend getting your arm checked out by a doctor. If it is an abscess, you're going to want to get it treated as soon as possible.

I would keep hot compress on the spot and put antibiotic cream, checking how it's going every couple of hours, and eventually go straight to ER if it's getting worse;
but first of all, I'd keep myself away from starting IV and IM drug use.
Forget injections, your life will go 90% ruined. Use different routes of administration, read Bluelight Guides and stay safe and healthy.
