Lithium, abilify, valproate. Can I mix with other things?

A pharmacist told me never mix abilify and alcohol at any dosE. I didn't listen of course, I don't know what valproate is, but mixing lithium and alcohol was a bad experience for me
 
I was on Depakote (valproate) for my migraines and made the mistake of mixing it with alcohol once. Luckily no noticeable damage was done, but apparently it's very bad for your liver and body if you do.
 
You can drink alcohol while on VPA just occasionaly and only 1-2 glasses (not longdrinks completely filled with wodka ofcourse :) )

I'm on VPA as well, get my blood tested (+liverscreening) every 6 months. Before I was a heavy drinker but since I'm taking this medicine (2years now) I have only drank about 5 times and only 1 or 2 glasses of beer.

They say you can't drink because alcohol when overdone damages the liver certainly when taking VPA but the occasional drink is not harmfull dixit my doctor.
