Yeah, paregoric is a tincture of opium and alcohol. It's used in treating chronic diareah. But don't expect to walk into a doctor's office or emergency room and walk out with a script for this. They'll typically prescribe heavy-duty Immodium AD or, if you tell them that the over-the-counter version doesn't work, they'll give you diphenoxylate, e.g. Lomotil, Lonox, etc. It's also an opiate, but it's not like the morphine in paregoric. Still, if you take about 7-10 mg. you can get a mild opiate high off of it. But, be careful, because they put a small amount of Atropine in the pill to prevent it from being abused. Sure, taking 7-10 mg of Lomotil isn't going to measure enough Atropine to cause any problems, but if you tried taking 40 mg like you would with an oxycott, you're fucked.
