Yeah baby yeah!
This SSU is gonna be sweet.
Even though if Cheesegrater is on sunday night it will still filter out the crowd for the weekend so that the SSU crowd will be a REAL sunnysideup crowd.
Cant wait for this one, see'ya there.

ok cool well this meetup shoudl deifnatly happene cause some of us goign already knwo each other and if we set a TIME and PLACE before actually going in to billboards well i think that woudl be a much better idea than trying to find anyone we cant recognize in there . So anyone else gonna come?...its 10bux to get in i think...and im pretty sure there will be at least TEN bluelighters there actually. SO all the rest of you melbourne bluelighters get your arse down theree

Does anyone else think that Sunnyside has lost the vibe a bit since it moved from the paladin to Billboards???

Tranq,
The vibe at Sunny is its main attraction, very friendly people, not too crowded and some nice tunes. Don't know alot about the music apparently Phil K is known as 'deep house', the music isn't fast or thumping, its house y (term used loosly).
Umm, someone help me out here - i don't know enough about the different kinds of Electronica!
The venue is good, its in Billboards, which has a Main Room with Stage (my personal fav dancing spot), dance floor, two bars, several chill areas, and is cleaner then the Hi-Fi. Passouts after 2, and a recovery from 8 30 to 12 30.
To everyone going to the Meetup!
Morph and I have decided that we will be leaving from the meetup at 12:15, so if your planning to make the meetup, but suddenly you think 'Shit, its 12:30, if I run i can maybe catch up' don't worry, because we will have left by 12:15.
Plus, everyone seems to know one or two other bluelighters, so we shouldn't have a problem finding eachother.

Samson: Yeah, a little bit anyway, it was a little bit more cozy at the Paladin (more like a house party!) but I still really enjoy it at Billboards, there's heaps more space now to sit down and chill out.
It's still my favourite night spot.
Phil K is one of my favourite DJ's and most people class the sunnyside music as DEEP House not House. I think the difference is the bassline dominates the tune and is at a particular speed (bpm). I've always regarded House as the sort of stuff you would hear in really clubby joints like QBH or Heat or something like that, never been to those places but from what i have been told, it sure sounds like it.
Psi Trance is VERY different to what Phil K plays, that style of techno would be closely related to GOA music. (Quite boppy but really trippy stuff.)
Anyway, see'ya there!!
Not sure if i can make the meetup yet. if i can't i will probably get there at 1:00.
