i havent had the chance to really indulge into the world of opiates yet,so i have a question ..?
you know how people on ACID/shrooms say they had a life changing experience(for the better) while on these drugs?
is it possible with OPIATES,i dont mean just a few VICS/PERCS,i mean with like fentanyl or heroin,or maybe a good sized dose of OXY
so what do you think...

I wouldnt think so, Atleast not for the good. I personally like opiates alot(I take oxycodone for pain daily and recreationally once or twice a week, But I make sure to limit my use), I find them very addicting. Thats the only life changing thing I think opiates could have on someone. Maybe someone else might have a different opinion...

You aren't going to see god when your on opiates. The only way they would significantly "change your life" would be to do them every day. Your new attitude towards life will probably change a few things.

I'm going to disagree with everyone. Opiates do not directly cause life changing experiences, but they can definantly play a role in them.
When my opiate tolerance was minimal, taking a moderate dose of oxycodone would put me in a state that in some ways would reflect some of the empathetic qualities of ecstasy. Some of the deepest conversations I have ever engaged in were on both oxycodone and heroin. The conversations in themselves and the closeness I would feel to others were definantly life changing in the awarenesses I acquired from the experiences.
I firmly believe that if you are just using opiates to get fucked up or to put yourself in a semi-conscious state to let time slip by while you stay behind in a euphoric state, you are not getting the full benefits of opiate use.

I side with SC - for me, the first time I tried a REAL OPIOID (I was shot up with heroin) I layed on the floor for several hours.. it was at that moment I knew that there would never be a point in my life where I would be *TOO DEPRESSED* .. I had the revelation at that moment that I had found the chemical which could solve just about all of lifes problems...
Of course it was no where near the same as my first MDMA experience (probably the biggest turning point in my entire life) or my 5-MeO-DMT experience...

Ok, so we'll put it this way. Opiates don't produce life changing experiances with the majority of the population. If opiates do produce said experiance, then chances are your Grade-A junkie material. No offense to junkies either, I used to be a crackfiend.

Definitely disagree.
ANYTHING can be a life-changing spiritual experience...opiates included...I find them to be a feling akin to that of God crawling into my skin...but I am a very spiritual person.

anything can give you a life changing experience. alert-how can you say the majority of the population with 6 peoples opinions? because with my opinion it would make half. you get what you want out of what you do, if you wanna get fucked up you get fucked up. if you want to have a life changing experience you'll get that. but don't think that its going to be a positive experience.

The first time I shot heroin was definitely a life changing experience. If anyone tells you it isn't, they are lying. Once something has been done, it cannot be undone.
Opiates have changed the course of my life, but have not really changed the way I think or understand my life. Now opiate dependency or addiction, that's another story altogether and I think blah... does a good job addressing that.
As far as revelations and introspections. None of that has ever come from my personal opiate use. If anything, opiates have the propencity to inhibit any serious introspection/revelation one could experience aside from how they can fit into your everday life and add to your 'happiness'.

Besides the obvious response of ya it changed my life, because now I love dope insatiably, forever, no matter whether I ever even shoot again.
Besides all that, actually when coming down off heroin, I tend to get very emotional, so on several occasions I have gotten in very emotional conversations with my good friends, wherein we learned alot about each other and got out alot of emotional stress. So these are positive things in my opinion, since I am closer to some friends than ever before...

Just the opposite. At least if you ask some real opiate addicts, they'll tell ya"Dont ever stick athat needle in yourself!".
I've always held onto these words. Now if you ask some of these silly fucks here(who by the way dont give 2 shits about you or your future)they'll try and turn you onto shooting opiates to achieve what would ammount to a life ending expirience. Punk ass busters!

Okay, posts like this make me salivate. Allow me to retort.
1) People like you are the very reason that we have the "Greenlighter" moniker. Unintelligent comments like this won't be tolerated. We aren't fucking here to judge, we are here to talk and educate.
2) There are "real opiate addicts" on this board so don't insult our intelligence or question the validity of what we have to say based on some bullshit idea that people here aren't 'real opiate addicts.' Shit man, this board has a lot of addicts, some worse than others, and some of them offer advice on safe injection techniques (aka HARM REDUCTION) while others will try and sway people to stear clear from IV drug use. NO ONE HERE IS TRYING TO GET PEOPLE HOOKED ON IV HEROIN, if they are they don't belong here. This is a forum for people to discuss a variety of drug topics from heroin to hair-spray.
3) As for what alert said, and I assume that's who you are referring to when you say "silly fucks", you were asking for advice on how to nod out. He was telling you straight up. That's not uncommon. Now that doesn't mean you have to right out and shoot up. Come on man, obviously you have enough sense to think for yourself. If you're going to do what someone tells you to do, jokingly I would assume, then you don't belong here. PERIOD.
4) As far as not giving a shit about our future, who the fuck are you to put a label on me like that? I CARE about my life and I see myself having a good future. I shoot up heroin, but it hasn't consumed my life. It's a personal choice I have made, don't judge me for it. I DEFINITELY don't need to justify myself to someone like you. You use heroin, but choose to smoke it. Do you see me clowning you like a sixth grader? I think not.

I doubt that this is necessary for Most users of the board, but of course just because I happen to enjoy opiates, I wouldn't ever encourage others to start sticking themselves with needles, seeing as how it does become an obsession.
The object of the board it would seem to Me anyways, is to openly discuss these things with other partakers or would be partakers of all chemicals.
Maybe I'm going on a limb here, but most people on their computer discussing these things more than anyone probably know the negative aspects that are possible. Flaming remarks aren't neccesary, we know we know "It's bad." I'll say no more on the subject, its not worth my time.

Here goes a little bit of strightening to what E-Space-monk definitly got twisted.Dont take this as me trying to get even or enact revenge or anything other than setting you straight on how you've(Spacemonk) over-salivated.
1) People like you are the very reason that we have the "Greenlighter" moniker.][QB]
Reply: what color code I fall under means dick to me.
2) There are "real opiate addicts" on this board so don't insult our intelligence or question the validity of what we have to say based on some bullshit idea that people here aren't 'real opiate addicts.[QB]
Reply:If you look at the context with which that was said, I was neither trying to insult your intelligence or call anybodies bluff as to what they claim to be.More like I was referring to an opiate addict that one might know or come in contact with in real life.People here are real. This is unchallenged. But you just cant confirm shit you cant quite see ,now can you?
Now here is where you just salivated a little too hard, and it must have impaired your reading comprehension.

I said nothing about you and your own future.I said "these people dont give 2 shits about you or your future". speaking to the posts originator and referring to people like you and alert not give a fuck about others.
