I feel small, weak, insignificant compared to you

An image I can never live up to.
Playing make believe on a grand scale
Pretending not to care
Pretending not to see you

These pretenses keep me safe, help me to sleep at night
I paid my alms at the temple of misinformation
God numb my pain I pray thee.
Im a ball of confusion
Unraveling strings of insecurities
Convoluted emotions put on the back burner of life
Avoidance is my game of choice
A master at the age of 20
Setting up the pieces to go another 20 rounds
I create games, puzzles, lies to convince myself I hate you
Hate what you stand for
Hate what you do to me
Hate that I cant be you.

That's a lot to feel at one time, I don't care how much of a multi-tasker you are baby.
We go on about how much things can make us stronger, but we don't talk about how much we resent that strength, do we. You have my heart, and you have once again captivated my mind with your words love.
