...where would rumors fit into telling lies? often you dont know if the information is true or not but you pass it on anyway...

I think I lie everytime I go to work. I seem the nice 'typical IT worker' guy kinda. But under my suit I have lots of tattoos/piercings/club a lot and my boss thinks I sit at home every weekend.. thats my lie. My body language.
 
Thoth does that mean i have a low IQ coz i find it hard to lie?

okay, this may seem heaps spiritual and phylosophical (if thats how u spell it..)
reading Wazza's post made me think..
how many of us are actually lying to ourselves each day?
are we really happy with who we r, wot we r doing, where we are in life etc..
yet each day we tell ourselves that we are happy in what we are doing, but how many of our dreams are unfilled...

I know a couple of compulsive liars who, yes have fallen into the trap of believing their own lies. I do see a possible positive correlation between high IQ and lying in regards to these two people. One of these guys has even developed a 'liar's stutter'!
 
Stress less betty boop! Just because you don't lie, this does not make you stupid. One scientific lesson everybody should learn: Correlation does not always imply causality. Your lack of lying could be related (and probably is) to something completely different. Remember, statistics deal with averages, and somebody always blows the bell-curve.
 
Im with Airwalk... always put a 'better spin on things' when critical things are not at stake...
Omitting the truth can sometimes be a graceful mercy.
Pigsney, On saturday morning (scattered as all sweet FUCK), i was having the exact same conversation with my... my... well, lets just call him my "partner in the substance supply industry" about how we've both got unusually large IQ's(we've both been tested independantly on different occasions) and how we had BOTH noticed that we deal the 'truth' out in different ways. That we had both identified in each other the way we'd spin things to a 'better shine' if the need would so arise to suit us.
AND that the only other ppl we knew that did this were others who we were for some reason naturally attracted to(socially of course) that it eventuated had high IQ's as well...
How curious is that...

Having said that, I also think that Intelligence Quotient tests are overrated and cause more damage than good.. in lots of ways that im not going to get into now...
