Benzos Librax - Harm reduction at it's finest...calling ALL CHEMIST(Students) Please Help

Sorry for the long bits, but ill try to save you as much time as i can...

SO i found an old bottle(from 2010) of Chlordiazepoxide-Clidinium bromide capsules....5mg-2.5mg
At first i thougt they were useless till i ran it through pill finder(the bottle said CDP Plus) and found out that Chlordiazepoxide was among, if not the first benzodiazepine synthesized. Looking at the Benzo equivalent dosage charts, 25mg of CDP = .5mg of Xanax...
So easy peasy right? just take 20 pills = xanax bar...WRONG! that would put me at 50mg of Clidinium.

*CDP=Chlordiazepoxide, CB=Clidinium Bromide*

This pest, CB, is an Anticholergenic, and a rare one at that. Thing is, In high doses, this can cause Antichollerngic Toxicity(i found a medical article, stating that someone who Abused Librax at my target dose{100mgCDP-50mgClidinum} Showed signs of Toxicity, which just sounds very unpleasant from my past experience abusing Benadryl(never again)...
Another reason is, it decreases mucuous in the G.I. tract, which worries me also as i take opiates fairly regularly and dont shit everyday and would rather not have a gastric obstruction of any kind.

So BASICALLY, what im getting at is a WAY TO SEPERATE the Two. Im not concerned about fillers so much, just the Clidinium..
Ive found so far the melting points and water solubility of each:CDP=4.78e-02 g/l(2,000mg/L), Melt Point.=457*F
CB=3.77e-04 g/l, melt point.=456*F
As you can see, the melting points are very close, without a proper heating utensil, i dont think such a precise temp could be reached...THEREFORE I NEED YO HELP!!


So my questions:
1.) How do i read the water solubility of CB(i couldnt find it in mg/L)only that..scientific notation or whatever that is
2.)IS it POSSIBLE for me, with a year of Highschool Chemistry under my belt, to SEPERATE THESE TWO substances, and if so how...

IF NOT, any ideas guys?? I'd like to see the potential of CDP, considering i actually have bad anxiety, and am working on aquiring a benzo script, But im at the first rung of the ladder, BuSpar8(

From the values you gave CDP is 100x more soluble in water than CB, however they are both practically insoluble for what you want to do so it doesn't really help (we're talking filtering and consuming liters of water to do a simple CWE). You need to find their solubilities in some more nonpolar solvents, which you can get manage to obtain, and they have to significantly differ.

I hope you're in a lab to do such a thing! Might be better off trying to find a COUNTER for that CB

'Preciate the replies fellas, but too little too late...

I found that the CB was alcohol soluble where the CDP was only slightly so..

So i emptied all 20 caps, into a medicine cup, poured in about 10mg of Isopropyl alcohol (Idk if the Solubility differs from one type of alcohol to another), filtered through coffee filter, had thick white paste left assumed(NOT PROVEN) to be the dissolved CB and Iso ALc.

I let the rest of the paste(Assumed to be Talc, Cornstarch, and CDP) dry over about 30 minutes, then Seeing as NEither Talc or cornstarch are water soluble and CDP is, so i poured 5ml(should dissolve exactly 100mg of CDP, if my calculations are correct) water in a med cup and added the Now dried white powder


Well the liquid grew cloudy, i let the contents settle while i went out for a smoke, came back, did a taste test on the now clear liquid.

It Did indeed taste very bitter, comparable to the taste of Xanax which led me to believe it worked.

I first thought that i had performed a succesfull Iso extraction of CB, and a H20 extraction of the fillers...

BUT seeing as i am no chemist with no lab or testing equpment, i said fuck it and threw all the shit away BECAUSE, it was pretty hard to get all the liquid out with a Syringe, and seeing as i was high for the night i didnt care..

Frankly i just didnt want to poison myself and end up with The wrong shit in me....lol

Please avoid ghetto chemistry like this wherever possible. The fact of ingesting trace (or more, I'm assuming you didn't run a TLC to check) amounts of isopropyl alcohol is terrifying and I hope that future readers of this thread don't do the same. You could test it with a TLC and melting point check, but I'd suggest reading through Organic Chemistry As A Second Language I & II and getting your hands wet with relatively inert substances (like melatonin) first, if you want to get into the game of developing extraction techniques.
