Lexapro with rolling/tripping

Hey guys, I got prescribed Lexapro 10mg per day. My issue with this is I like to trip/roll and don't want Lexapro to get in the way. I already checked out the "SSRI's and Rolling" sticky thread over at ED but it didn't answer all my questions.

Has anyone out there had experience with Lexapro personally? How long in advance will I have to stop taking the Lexapro before I can actually roll? 1 week? 1 month? Obviously I know this has to do with how long I have been taking it, which I have held off on because there are events coming up in the next few months.

Also, how does Lexapro interact with shrooms or LSD? Will I still be able to trip? All I have really heard definitively is that Lexapro really dampens the visuals of almost all Psychedelic drugs.

I appreciate any insight you guys can give me on this.

I was on lexapro up until about a week ago. One month of 10mg and then one month of 20mg. I didn't try rolling or tripping during this period, just because I already knew it wouldn't work.

I was previously prescribed fluoxetine (Prozac). I went from 20mg a day, up to 40mg a day, and ended up taking it for a solid 3-4 month period. At one point during my treatment with this med, I got a hold of a gram of molly powder. I heard the rumors, but thought they must be at least partial bullshit. Railed a good sized line (~300mg?), and felt nothing. SSRI's are a definite buzzkill if you want to roll. As for how long you should wait after cessation, that's tough to tell. These drugs all have such beastly half-lives. I'm taking a wild guess here based upon how I feel upon stopping SSRI therapy, that 2 weeks in the least would be adequate to try rolling, and the longer the better.

As for psychedelic drugs, I've never really touched them while on SSRI's so I really can't speak to that point. The consensus seems to be negative all around though. And I do believe you put yourself at greater risk for a serotonin syndrome situation. My advice is just to steer clear of both while on treatment. Realistically, if you are trying to get help for your depression, steering clear of all other psychoactive substances would probably be a good idea. Just my two cents

I've heard you shouldn't trip on LSD while taking an SSRI so I would stay away from that. I'm not sure about mushrooms, I don't know if they affect serotonin. You want to stay away from hallucinogenics that have an affect of serotonin while on SSRI's.

As for rolling, you should give yourself 2 weeks off before taking the MDMA.
