We also urge your favorable consideration of Assembly Bill A628, which legalizes adult possession and use of certain natural plant and fungus-based hallucinogens—such as psilocybin, mescaline, and DMT—removing them from Schedule I and granting necessary legal protections for responsible, therapeutic use by adults across New York State
Together, these bills represent an essential step in expanding safe, trauma-informed treatment options for older adults, reducing stigma, and fostering intergenerational healing.
