I've been to Harpoon's site too. That's pretty much my fall back as most local places carry Harpoon as their IPA if they only have one. I am a fan of their UFOs (unfiltered offering) as well. Ya if you aren't a hops person then you won't be big on IPAs but, I think Long Trail has an excellent IPA because it's hoppy to an insane degree. Other than that I can definitely take or leave their other stuff.
 
^when i was visiting a buddy out in montana, i tried a few different selections from big sky, and i gotta say that moose drool was the best. dark and delicious. if any of you haven't already, i would suggest trying the full selection of leinenkugels. they do not make a single beer that i do not thoroughly enjoy. also, new glaurus and new belgium make some damn tasty brews as well
 
yay leines! grew up right by the brewery. before miller bought them out, you could pick up a thirty pack of leinies original for $11

um yea FUCK BEER out of all the recreational mind altering substances available why the fuck would you drink beer? Honestly it tastes like carbonated PISS ....fuck it!!!! Im sticking with the hard stuff

Not everyone drinks to get intoxicated and act like a fucking moron. I drink beer because I love the flavor and I find beer quite tasty. If you're drinking piss beer then you are clearly drinking shit. I'm a complete beer snob and I only drink flavorful beer.

So really, contribute or GTFO.
 
just had a dogfish head 120 minute ipa and HOLY SHIT was it awesome! its about 18% abv. stuff is intense! $9 a bottle but it is so worth it! there were only 2 left so i gotta go back see if they have more or look around because it only comes out a few times per year, so get it while you can folks!

also, I'm looking for Bells Hopslam, anyone see it around?

I mentioned Moose Drool a while back in this thread, and was talking about it to some friends recently too. It was easily one of my favorites of all time. I got it in a variety pack that had beers from Montana and Oregon I think, and I have some pics of me drinking it in the classroom since I was headed there after I had stopped at the mailroom which had my package of it which was a gift so I really didn't know at the time what I was going to class with.

HopSlam is out just got to find it. I picked up a 6pk last week and could only get to 4, god is that stuff gooood and potent.

Have you ever tried the Bell's Batch 9000? oooohhh boooy
 
Dogfish had a pumpkin beer I wanted to try this past fall, didn't get around to it though.

Shipyard makes an "Applehead" beer, it's along the same lines as their pumpkinhead beer. I was actually really surprised, I expected it to be like a cider but it was actually an apple flavored beer. I saw it and tried it recently so I don't think it's a seasonal, I could be wrong though. It's definitely worth a try if you're looking for something a little different
 
A couple of friends and myself had a pretty nice happy hour yesterday,. I broke out a Allagash Curieux (Bourbon Barrel-Aged Tripel) I've been saving, and another friend had a Brooklyn Black Ops he opened up also, made for a damn fine afternoon.

Then gtfo. This is a thread for those who love beer, not for people to come in and say "fuck beer". There are so many reasons to drink beer rather than the "mind altering" part, I'm not even getting into it. I'd probably hate beer too if all I've ever tried was a warm bud light.

Dogfish 120 is pretty hard to find. It only comes out every so often and in very limited supplies to a few package stores. I love an extremely hoppy IPA so I was psyched when I got my hands on it. Although expensive I decided to treat myself to one. Let me just say I've never been so disappointed in a beer before. I personally like an IPA that's so hoppy that it sucks the moisture out of the back of my throat and destroys my sense of taste for a while. I like other dogfish beers, their 60 minute is one of my favorite IPAs. The 120 is not like that at all though, it's very thick and sweet. I poured about half of it and didn't finish my glass. Then I put it back in the fridge as I didn't want to waste a beer that cost over 8 bucks. Came back to it a little later, took one small sip out of the bottle and poured it out. Not for me. Some dudes really like the stuff but it absolutely was not what I was looking for.
 
^ya the 120 is not for everyone but i really enjoy it. also you are suppose to drink it at slightly above room temp. maybe this had an effect on you experience?

i will have to search for the hopslam. last night i had dogfish sah tea, it was ok, prob would not get again. also, founders makes great beers. they had their porter for sale so i picked some of that up. also had a pint of stone arrogant bastard. love that shit. and i have not had bells batch 9000. have to keep an eye out. happy easter everyone!

I can't wait for the Opa Opa summer brews, strawberry, watermelon, and raspberry are three of my favorites.

There is a microbrewery in Holyoke MA that has a blueberry beer that is out of this world. The brewery is called Paper City.
 
I'm drinking a few different Blue Points today. First I had the Hoptical Illusion. I liked it more than I did the last time, but overall it's an average IPA. Now I am drinking my favorite Blue Point which is the toasted lager. It's like a mix between a brown ale and a lager.
