H-C... we have one double air mattress and a couple of normal mattresses that these uncouth larikens can rest their weary bodies on if you like...it would save some room in the cars, etc...
And lets not forget that all the interstaters will be in BRisbane when history is being made...(insert drumroll here..

Hmmmm I've been looking around for ways to travel up there and these are the options.
Hiring a car is wayyyyyyyy too expensive, but if we got lots of us going then we could hire a big van which wouldn't cost that much although it's still expensive. Plus you have to be at least 21 (which I'm not

) to be able to hire a car.
Train Travel is fucking ludicrous. Unless you like being in a confined space for a long time and you don't smoke, you will not like this at all. Plus it takes wayyyyyy too long to get up there. Oh yeah and you have to change over in Sydney, but you are stuck there for 10 hrs. The worst thing about it is that you finally get to Brissy after 34hrs and 50 mins at 6:35am. That bites, and no matter what day you click on it's the same.
Bus Travel is looking more attractive by the minute. It may be more confined than the train, but at least you get meal breaks when you can smoke. However travel sickness would be a high possibility.
Plane is the best only 2hrs away, but only one problem. If you guys want to take pills up be careful. You may not be going through the international section, but still you just never know.
So who has a reliable car?????????

I wouldn't be too worried about personal possession of pills, sniffer dogs would have to be good to pick up a couple of pills.
I'll be planning on staying in Sydney for a little more than 10 hours, so that won't be too much of a problem... Don't know about the rest of you tho

And oh yeah, my car is reliable, the problem there is it's tiny, really slow when full, and full when there's two, or at most three people in it

Anyone have a look at www.travel.com.au?
They usually have good deals on flights but only deal with Ansett and Qantas. Virgin Blue seems to be cheaper but sometimes have to fly really early in the morning to get the cheapest fares.
My Melbourne-Brisbane flight for next weekend was $275 summer fare special on Ansett but don't know about easter rates or how much prices change with stopover in Sydney...
uhhh, yeah, so I don't know very much but the recovering catholic in me does at least know that easter weekend is 13 April (hmmm, good Friday on the 13th - anyone superstitious???).

so exactly how many people are interested in an interstate trip up here to see us WONDERFUL brissy people (grrrr ..... you better ALL put up your hands you know or i'll .... i'll ..... i'll come down there and attack you all with the blue kitten tail of death!!!! (yeah, that oughta scare them, yeah)). coz i'm pretty sure whatever mode of transport you decide on would probably consider a group discount if there was enough of you.
just a thought
but then again, you know what my thoughts are like!!!!!!!!

REally starting to seem very very interesting .... I dun mind flying straight up to Bris .... but I do need a place to stay though ... I dun worry about bringing pills interstate. And as Tars said, the dogs have to be really good sniffers.

umm...if you guys can rustle up enough people, you could probably hire a mini bus. It wouldn't cost too much once split between all you ppl - probably a lot cheaper than everyone going their seperate ways. Hey! Call it the blue bus...fark..me and my buses..
I can just see it - a mini bus packed with bluelighters, pumping techo and towing a trailer packed with everyone's shit...

Ok, time to start seriously getting things organised, specially if we're gonna be booking a plane...
However, that's still undecided, so what I wanna know is who is definately coming, regardless of how we get there, and who won't be able to afford to go unless it's really cheap, or who doesn't want to fly, train, drive, etc...
If you're gonna come regardless of cost etc, could you email me personaly, just so I have something definate to work with...
Here's some prices just for reference for those concerned about the cost...

Melbourne to Sydney - $110 - 10hr trip
Sydney to Brisbane - $110 - 14hr trip
From www.qantas.com.au - Internet bookings
Melb -> Syd - One Way - $75.24 - 1hr 20mins
Syd -> Bris - Return - $140 - 1hr 30mins each way
Bris -> Melb - One Way - $138.60 - 2hr 20mins
Those prices were for internet bookings only, the standard prices that were on www.travel.com.au and the ansett site were all around $300 for a one way flight
Havn't got any prices for car/mini-bus hire yet, will make some calls within the next few days...
