Lets get some Dub back in our Step

^ Lol I don't get why reggae should be added to this since we're in the EMD thread but great song none the less.

I could listen to Skream all day man, honestly. I don't mean to be one of those assholes who says things like "what happened to the good old days when..." especially since dubstep has only been around for like 7 years but.... what happened to the good dubstep? All there is recently is people like skrillex dropping the loudest, screetchiest, most annoying basslines that sound more like heavy metal than electronic music. I can't wait for Skream to come back to Chicago so I can see him. I wasn't 21 the last time he was around.

Some of my favorites
Skream-Rutten

Skream-Midnight Request Line

Skream-Where you should be w/ Sam Frank

Skream-Night by Night (Chromeo remix)

Listening to these songs compared to skrillex makes them seem like they are from different genres.

Yup! I'm so sick of the stuff that I've deemed "The hardness if my Bassline is in opposite correlation to the size of my cock-step".
I want more soul, bass that you feel rather than hear, interesting beats instead of PURELY "Kick - Snare - - Kick Snare".
Where's the high-hat shuffles and percussion?
Where the depth?
Why does everything have to go "one step further"?

Certain forms of "Dubstep" now and just repeating each other and trying to do one over on each other (hence the "My bass is dirtier than your bass" stuff), which left so much of the sound unexplored.
Some producers have become stuck in this rutt and can't seem to expand out of it. It's boring. Sure, there's always going to be classics of that sound, but when each and every fucking producer is trying to sound like [X] then for fuck's sake - The creativity is lost.

I would facepalm right now but I have not the energy.
