Long time Lurker here. Hello Bluelighters! I hope you're all well.
I hope my first post goes okay. Forgive me for any mistakes!
For quite a few years I've been on and off H then going onto Buprenorphine between my usage. At first, I'd always go through hell with WDs, waiting until I could take some bupe that would be effective with helping the WD symptoms. Then I read about taking very small amounts of bupe while coming off H, to try and prevent precipitated WDs. This would sometimes work okay but I'd often still end up precipitating WDs.
Now I've found a method of transition which seems to be much less painless for me.
To do this I start while I've still go a decent amount of H left and want to go onto bupe afterwards. I'll take a little bit of Buprenorphine (sublingually or insufflated) with each hit of H. Because I've just taken a decent hit of H it doesn't cause WDs to precipitate. Then as I start to run out of H, I'll gradually take less H and a little more Buprenorphine per hit. Then by the time I've run out of H I can just take some Buprenorphine and I don't get any withdrawals. Maybe my mood is affected a little but I dont get any awful physical withdrawals like aches, pains and worse of all (for me); the restlessness.
So I hope this helps for anyone else looking to come off H onto bupe but are worried about precipitating withdrawls.
