Location
In an igloo made of asbestos and chicken-wire.
...

she pulls with aching hands
this moss-covered wood
straining against inertia
invisible well
dragging back down
into the green
the damp
where her feet become soaked
and cold
white awkward limbs
basted in dirt
a ladybird lost
upon bruised left ankle
the trail is long
like the frozen wake
of a speedboat on placid waters
a heartbeat which never peaked
but kept humming at the same monotone
and never broke
never broke

...

not once does she consider
where she's going
why this dead tree must follow
the leaves crunching 'neath her
the dewdrops which melt
but the sun chases
slowly
warm and away
so far away
and all she remembers
are the things that they said
about the music that led her here
lesbian forest songs
they're leading her on
through her tears
and remorse
into more
something else
into more
something else

...
