Hypothetically, if your roommate was growing marijuana in his room(not in a common area) of your apartment, could you get in trouble if the police found out. The state is Massachusetts if that makes much of a difference. Would he have to admit that you had no knowledge of his grow, in order for you to stay out of trouble, or would you still be guilty? Additionally, his name is NOT on the lease, only yours.

If you could get him to say that you had no part in it and that you didnt know, I think only he would get introuble.

And it all depends how much pot we are talking about here man,

If it's 1 or 2 plants I can see that going under your radar. But if it's like 5+ plants then your cuked regardless cause there is no way you wouldn't know. :

If you are on the lease, then you are at risk. If your pad gets raided I can almost guarantee that you will be arrested and charged, is just a question of if it would stick or not. Its all good to say you had nothing to do with it and no knowledge, but how much do you trust your roommate to say the same thing to a LEO? Do you really think he would take FULL responsibility? LEOs play a lot of head games, and might offer him a reduced charge in exchange for ratting on you as well. All the pigs care about is charging as many people with as many crimes as possible. If you decide to let him grow, I'd tax his ass for putting you at risk. If you aren't getting anything out of it, I'd tell him to get rid of the plants or get out.

There is no way for us to tell you exactly what to do in this situation --- if your roommate is growing weed, and your name is the only one on the lease, it's bad news. You'd have to find somewhere where legal discussions were allowed for that type of question, and BL is not the right place. Calling someone locally for legal advice if that could hypothetically be a situation you are involved in is the only way to really receive reliable information on this. Closed, PM me if you have any questions.
