Legal pot for a felon

If your a x felon on probation and get you LIC renewed. In ca its legal. I mean regardless of probation wouldn't that make using weed, having weed the same as having a prescription from a doctor? Or would the probation trump the card? I wan't to know what im getting into.

I mean if I can get drugs from a doctor and take them then can I get my card then get weed?

Not sure about the specifics in CA, but here in Florida (where we don't have medical marijuana unfortunately) there is a VERY arbitrary clause to cover these sort predicaments. Line #10 of the Florida Order of Probation Contract states: "You will live and remain at liberty without violating any law. A conviction in a court of law shall NOT be necessary in order for such a violation to constitute a violation of probation / community control (house arrest)."

Now what this boils down to, at least here in sunny Florida, is that if they arrest you while you are on probation, even if the charge gets thrown out or you are found not guilty buy a jury, you still violate your probation. I'm not sure if it's the same in CA, but regardless marijuana is still illegal under federal law. Not sure if this helps you at all, but I would advise caution. Possibly contact an attorney and get his opinion but still exercise extreme caution. It seems as if there is a way for them to fuck you over, they'll find it.

thats true for me too. Any contact with police where im arrested even if the charges are dropped is a violation.

so lame. it wasn't even a drug charge im sober. 7months now. The crime was 2.5 years ago. probation is very lame
