Legal Mind/Cognitive Enhancing Drugs?

Hey all,

I'm just wondering what (if any) drugs you guys recommend, that I can get in Australia, for helping boost my mental function (particularly with something like music). I've heard of Piracetam, Hydergine, and Diapid. Are any of these ones good, or are there better?

Cheers, guys.

I'm also curious.

I've had great experiences with Diphenylprolinol as a smart drug. Always increased confidence and mental ability.

Legality is an issue though.

Firstly, welcome to BL! :)

If you're trying to source drugs, this thread will be closed, you're not allowed to ask for drug sources on here.

If you're asking which drugs enhance cognation, then that's fine. The word you're looking for however is "nootropics" :)

Ah yes, I saw that part of the rules. No attempts to source, here! :)

Just asking which ones to locate, for my purposes, as well as their negative aspects.

Ah yes, I've heard the term before. I presume they affect different areas of cognition?

Cool! :) The word nootropics is meant to be a very broad term to cover everything from memory enhancing drugs to improving intelligence, to helping with attention span! Specific drugs however I personally cannot list for you. However there are a few regular BLers here who have quite a expansive knowledge on this topic! :)

I find one or two alcoholic drinks transforms me into a modern day adonis, gives me endless wit and intellect, as well as the physical strength to take on 2 or 3 nightclub bouncers at once.

Haha, I appreciate the jokes and the serious answers, but really, I am serious in asking this.

I'm aware of the wide range of nootropics, but I'm not sure which ones are best, and which are more appropriate for my skills/focus; the arts - music. (Not that you can necessarily 'target' a realm of study to improve with drugs, but I'm sure you get my meaning).

However, I do not wish to use anything addictive or damaging, and I do not drink, so that rules out the alcohol and nicotine pills.

Any ideas appreciated :)

I've been looking around; seems Piracetam is highly recommended, as is Aniracetam (some say the former is stronger, some suggest combining the two?)

Apparently Piracetam should be combined with a Choline supplement of some sort? I can't seem to find any reasoning/explanation for this, or how much combines with how much of the former (i.e. what sort of doses I should take).

I appreciate that you think I'm joking when I say jelly beans but, your brain needs glucose to attach dendrites which consequently form memories. Jelly beans from the chemist are good quality.

Check out this thread I started a few years ago...

http://www.bluelight.ru/vb/threads/56743-Piracetam-does-it-work

Fair bit of useful info in there... and the latest posts are from a couple weeks ago. At the moment Im using aniracetam plus choline plus hydergine. Seems to be working ok. The biggest difference I notice is an increase in my mental narrative / internal dialogue. At times it can be distracting (and disturbing) but if you are in a good headspace with minimal anxiety it can be great. I find its hard to ignore any nagging issues I might have (no matter how trivial) but if I get all my shit done and avoid procrastination I can be fairly productive (i.e. can successfully purge the bullshit from my mind and get on with the task at hand).

Incidentally, I also find that nootropics can be great at reducing procrastination in general.

Does that make sleeping more difficult? If I could change one thing about my brain it would be to slow my internal dialogue down.

^^^ I'm the same Jake. Last thing I wanna do it help it or make it louder! It's actually one of the things my psychologist and I are working on. Thanks for that info pinkanga too, awesome work mate!!!

Alright, I'm going to order real soon; just after some concrete feedback.

Going for Piracetam and Choline, but I don't know what form of Choline to get - Choline Bitartrate, Choline Chloride, Phosphatidyl Choline, Choline Citrate, etc. Any ideas? Apparently some can cause a fishy odour.

Also, what doses are recommended when combining the two? (Both regular and 'attack').

Piracetam is sched 4 in Australia - Customs may detain and and you to produce a prescription.
Aniracetam is fine to import and as you said, more potent. I'd go for this.

Choline itself, even that obtained from the diet, can cause a fishy odor due to it's partial metabolism to trimethylamine. I don't know if there is a way to avoid this. Chew lots of gum/use plenty of breath freshener?

I highly recommend you get your jellybeans from the pharmacy where they will be of a reliable quality. One time I bought them off the street and didn't check the bag, got home and they were all the black kind. :\
