I think a lot of amanitas less pleasing effects make it more common to some deliriants but if I remember right you can get rid of some fo those effects by preparing properly. I think they have to be heated to break down the ibotenic acid or something along those lines, then they are much more bearable.

No legal high is going to work.

However, you can take advantage of kratom before it becomes illegal.
And JWH-018, and other synthetic cannabinoids are still legal in some states.

That is utter bullshit. A short list of legal highs of the past:
Cocaine
Heroin
LSD
MDMA

and present:
DXM
Nitrous
Alcohol
Poppy pods
4-MMC (may or may not be legal depending on your location).

As you can see, there are many legal drugs that are effective. There is no reason why the set of recreational psychoactives should be coextensive with the set of illegal drugs.

I used to take some OTC capsules of creatine and empty out the powder inside, and replace it with powdered nutmeg. take about 20 capsules like that (much easier to get down than swallowing that nasty powder by itself) and in an hour you will get an interesting buzz. Weed is way better, but if OTC is what you are looking for it certainly works.

I have also smoked K2 ("spice") which is pretty similar to smoking weed. interested in trying kratom. good luck!
