*I understand what you are saying- Europe has had trouble for a long time, but there has still been uniting threads through it, and royal families marrying, for centuries, where there has not been such cultural sharing with Africa, the same way, or the Middle East. Greece has contributed greatly to Britain, and Britain to Norway, and Norway to Britain, culturally, etc. Europeans cannot count many things distinctly African, or of African cultural origin, identified with Africans, that they now identify as part of their culture; 'Africa' and the Middle East recently-enough has not made a lasting impression/it has not been of great influence to the identity of Europe lately, and Europeans do not identify them as "in", as readily. As well, again, race does have something to do with things, because people look for belonging, and like to order things. It is hard not to see groups and it is hard for, even randomly, groups to not take on different statistical qualities- and unfortunately people will associate things with groups (not always the same, but it can add fuel), and groups can be self reinforcing, due to certain circumstances (I have said this: I don't have any real issue with individuals and eventually a small minority would NEED to integrate into the mainstream, but with these mass numbers, this becomes complicated). Europeans can blend easily enough with each other. A couple of generations and they're more or less the same. Yes there could still be conflict, various ways, for various reasons.

So despite English and French being official languages of many African countries, Christianity being a major religion in sub-Saharan Africa, Elizabeth II being the monarch of many African states, and the history of European colonization in Africa, and the general Western dominance of world culture, and the whole shared human values, there's just too big of a gulf in your mind, huh?

If I did have the power I probably would, but today I saw a little girl, who was black, taking trash to the dumpster in my complex, and she didn't have a jacket on and it was snowing and freezing- she was wearing a short-sleeved shirt. I rolled my window down and told her she needs to put on a jacket (with humor/lightness), and almost offered her to ride back to her place (I was at the dumpster, saw her walking on the way), but she is a little girl, and I am a 34 year old man, so I didn't, even though I was really only being nice/"human". Anyway, there is an example of how I am not a monster, in practice, but if I were less limited than now, and closer to unlimited, I would probably build a colony and be very selective of who I allowed to it (and, I am not going to be a monster, but I'm much less likely go out of my way to be an "angel" to non-whites, even though in practice I often have been, believe it or not).

It's more than skin color. Skin color alone is really nothing to do with it (although, it has effects, so does factor, but I dated a girl who was often darker than some black people and thought she was the most beautiful girl in the school at a time). Don't try to debase it that way.

The power of self-denial and wilful ignorance is very significant. At this point, people who aren't prepared to defend secularism, the rights of women and gays, and free speech against Islamisation are nothing but traitors.
 
I think a really pertinent question to be asked in this thread is how could someone is 2017 be so stupid as to be a Marxist? The ideology that lead to the death of hundreds of millions in the 20th century, and facilitated the worst stifling of freedom of speech and expression that the world has ever seen?

How little must you know about human nature to know that a communist system could never work? Every single time, in every communist regime, the ruler/s lived like Kings while the masses starved. The way Castro was eulogized recently was truly disgraceful. He lived in a mansion smoking cigars while the poor people had no bread and rice. A champion of the workers. What a joke.

-The Common Law, which is the greatest legal system known to mankind

-Infrastructure
-CAPITALISM (did that trigger you?)

-CHRISTIANITY

Pretty impressive list, isn't it?

Let's not forget
- genocide
- the (imposed) death of indigenous language, customs, knowledge and traditional ways of living
- environmental destruction of an incredible scale;
- numerous flora and fauna extinctions since european colonisation
- mass deforestation
- high levels of pollution in air, soil and waterways/ocean
- bleaching of coral reefs due to climate change (which our federal govt is still pretending does not exist)

Not such a proud list after scarely two centuries.
All that "fear of islam" stuff is nonsense. We have plenty of problems without scapegoating muslims.

Also, criticising islam's treatment of women and LGBTI folks only works if you also stand up for those people in your own community.
As most of the queer activists and feminists i know are not anti-islam, i'm dubious about the whole thing. Seems like a convenient way to put someone down.

Either way; i don't romanticise colonial genocide. Australia's history is extremely dark and bloody too, you know.
Using death and horror as a way to condemn communism, but in the next breath saying that white Australia - and the British Royal family (if you're a big fan of the constitutional monarchy) are a-ok seems a tad confused.

now its edited down to the actual fantastic things. "infrastructure" doesnt really count though because all cultures have infrastructure, so they didnt really bring anything, and common law being the "greatest legal system known to mankind" is merely an opinion, so its placement too on this list of fantastic things is also questionable.

spacejunk's list of the horrible things they've done to provide so little benefit is far more impressive. the cons far outweigh the pros here, except when you're looking at it through the lens of white supremacy, and believe your culture is superior to all others and can do no wrong, facts and evidence be damned. thats also called being "delusional" btw.
 
Nearly every race has comited genocide at some point in history.
At least most of the genicide comited by whites/westerners was a while ago, most recent genocide was carried out in Middle East and Africa and it's still happening today.

Sj, don't have to stand up for gays if you critisize Islams treatment of gays at all. I don't stand up for gays but I know islam treats gays teribly.

Trudeau didn't win because of legal Cannabis or because women may think he's cute. While i hate the Upper class cunt born with a silver spoon shoved up his arse he won because Canada rejected the too far Right wing version of Conservatism Harper and his bum buddies followed. I thought hard of voting for Trudeau as i hate his father (Daddy War Measures act himself) and don't care much for any of that rather well off family but compared to Harper he was the far lesser of 2 evils. Hell Harper couldn't even buy a vote in this province in the last 2 elections because his brand of western Canadian Conservatism that comes out of that godawful University in Calgary is hated on the east coast.

Canada certainly has it's problems and there's no reason why we can't take immigrants from the US or people forced to come here because they can't go to the US now. There are lot's of Syrians and other people fleeing war zones in this province and personally i say the more the merrier.

Fixing the Welfare system and the 3rd world conditions that Aboriginals in Canada live in all too often is a whole other issue. It can hardly be solved in a year or anything.

I literally do not have a clue which group. I only see a pretty harmonious society and I interact with all sorts of Australians daily. Our society is actually working.

My girlfriend's sister has a major crush on Trudeau. He is admittedly a handsome ass dude; he's like the JFK of Canada. I hope he doesn't get assassinated.
