Lecturer charged with drug possession after teen dies in party at his house

If I ever leave my stash where kids can get their hands on 'em, I would not expect a lot of sympathy. I would expect judgement, harsh.
And the same for every parent who has a liquor cabinet that the kiddies can get at? That's a lot of people.

No one said anybody deserved anything. Of course I feel sorry for the tragedy, I feel sorry for everyone involved. However, I can only feel so much sympathy for individuals who put themselves into situations KNOWING that they can potentially hurt or kill themselves, especially in a case where it couldn't be any more NO DUHHHH than this. I mean c'mon, you find some random powders and pills, and you just give them to your friends not knowing what it is? What the fuckin' fuck?

I have all my stash tucked and hidden away, but not like locked up in a safe or anything. If someone went in my room and found my stash, they'd have to be specifically looking for it. Then, if they ate a bunch of stuff I had in there and got sick, should I feel bad about myself? Should I feel bad for the person who stole my drugs? No, they knew exactly what they were doing and suffered for their ignorance.

A guy blindfolds his friend, put an apple on his head and tries to shoot it off with a gun, but blows his friend's face off instead. Do you feel bad for either of these people? No, because it was a dumb idea to start with, it was a dumb idea while they were doing it, and it's still a dumb idea after the fact, and they both were fully aware of how dumb it was all along. How can anyone sympathize with people in such situations? It's like ummm dude what the hell did you expect to happen!? There are people who are uninformed, and there are others who are just IGNORANT. The teenagers in this news story were IGNORANT and faced the consequences of an extremely poor decision.

Having said all that, I'm very sorry for the father and the families involved.

Sorry for the guy, he should have known, with a teenager daughter/son everything can happen. He should have put the stash in a significantly hidden place, cos he didn't know them well.

Sorry for the girls involved, both the dead and the undead yet, tragic loss both sides. Heart goes to everybody, cos the shining goes to them.

Oh and "a broken leg"? Kiddin. Try to off you efficiently, next time, if you do decide so.

Special K and booze are the same thing in your mind?

You think me cold, while I think you one of those bleeding heart liberal types where no one should take responsibility for their actions cause it is someone else's fault.

But, hey, lol, it takes all kinds of fruit to make a fruit salad!

lmao, or try a higher bridge.

Well, they are both drugs that can be lethal in overdose. I'm sure that kids have drunk themselves to death on their parents/other people's parents booze before. I in no way suggested that either the girl or the father shouldn't take responsibility for their actions. I just said that I felt sorry for them. btw "bleeding heart liberal" is a very American concept, so I'm not sure how well it maps to myself.

Sorry for the double post - an oversight on my part.

Texas really isn't America, though. It is a bit of a savage outlaw land, and prolly where my heart turned to stone. Yes, you can overdose on booze but the degree of dangerousness between the two I feel significant...

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre... Tell me about it. Go on the cinema board, top 100 horrors films of all time ;)

Apart from in the legal, linguistic, cultural and geographical senses...

Yes, you're right, ketamine is much safer. The link below is about huge ketamine overdoses in children; one child was given 100 times the intended dose, and survived with no long term damage. Therapeutic doses of ketamine are already much larger than recreational doses; I'd like to see anyone survive drinking 100 times more alcohol than they meant to.

She didn't take any 5-MeO-DiPT, she took two Ecstasy tablets. We don't get "methbombs" in the UK, and I doubt an old hippy would have pipes. So, how much did you want to bet? ;)

Having read the news story, all 4 of them that took the pills were hospitalised with convulsions. Certainly sounds fishy...

it's not just kids this can happen to, a mate of mine had a flat party last year, had a 200mg baggie of 2ci in the drawer next to his bed. two lads went into his room and started looking through his stuff, they found the bag and split it into two lines assuming it was coke.

heh, your friend should have let them sniff it, then told them what it was and to gtfo.

& why are people hating on the father? even if you have the greatest hiding spot in the world, a couple determined teenagers WILL find that shit if they want to.

LMAO, yeppers, @footscrazy that is what I meant. Ketamine is so. much. safer. than alcohol... lmao :-) I would hope that children would experiment with K before experimenting with a cold beer. ;-)
