Least damaging way to smoke herb?

What's the best way/method to smoke herb so that you do not get temporary or permanent damage to your mouth, throat, esophagus, and lungs?

I know you can eat herb and bypass all of that but eating herb isn't as fun and it can be a total waste with high quality herb since half a gram of kind bud can get yourself and a few other people very high multiple times instead of just having one person eat it and get very high just once.

I'm asking about smoking and techniques that deal with smoking only, so don't tell me to vaporize it or get a vaporizer.

I don't smoke herb daily and I also exercise. I do not smoke resin as it gets cleaned out and thrown down the drain from my bowls and bongs. I also do not have asthma and I do not smoke tobacco.

I know people will say how smoking herb doesn't cause cancer or emphysema but c'mon you're inhaling hot burning plant material with lots of tar in it.

Is it true that bongs filter out more THC and leave more tar even if the smoke is cooled?

If this is in the wrong forum mods please move it. I wasn't sure if I should put it here in the herb forum since it deals with smoking pot or in healthy living?

no it is not true. canny mind the specifics but i saw a report that someone linked to on here and turns out that bongs, they just work perfectly.

id personally say a bong, with ashcatchers & percs as well as warm water (some say ice, but IME warm water makes for a smoother hit)
is the way to go. all the ashcatchers and percs on this baby must mean this guys lungs are thankful ;)

hahaha damn that Roor bong with all the ash catchers and the blue bubbler added on is crazy!

I'll bet it must have been expensive though. :(

Why are you opposed to vaping? It fits all your criteria and then some. Many people use vaporizers in conjunction w/bongs to get the cooling effect and the massive bong rip effect. I find that people who try vaping don't ever look back. The taste is sooooo awesome... much better than smoking.

The only real way to reduce damage is to vaporize it, like said above. I personally don't like vaporizing but everybodys different. How about doing the hot knives? A .5 can go along way on the hot knives.

i heard on the NORML show podcast from a doctor that bongs and vapes are great, but the number one way to smoke, get the THC and not hurt your lungs is by rolling joints..

^ I've heard that that is the least effective and most damaging. I will try and find where I read that.

This is what I read:
Rolled cannabis only delivers between 10 and 27 percent of the available THC in the cannabis cigarette according to the 1981 Lindgren, 1983 Wall, and 1993 Cone studies. THC also tends to condense in the butt of the joint, so that the last half-inch may contain as much as 50 percent of the overall THC in the joint.
I have not taken the time to look up the studies though.

I use a vape that feeds into a bong, and it works for me.

Its not 100% benign, but it feels only slightly damaging. Far less damaging than actually smoking cannabis, which is not incredibly toxic to begin with IMO.

I'm not totally opposed to vaping but I don't know much about it TBH.

Aren't vaporizers that actually work very well like the Volcano brand one very expensive? Which brands of vapes should be totally avoided?

I've never vaped but I was told that the high isn't the same as smoking is this true?

Is it easy to set up a vape so it gets filtered into a bong?

common misconception...
one or 2 percs is plenty after that you are just wasting thc in the water.

Plus the smoke gets stale in all those percs/chambers which ruins the flavor of the bud;
and you need a huge hit to actually hit the thing so you end up smoking more thus wrecking the lungs more.

I started learning about it about 1yr ago and purchased my first vape about 6mo ago. I wanted portable and efficient, went with the magic flight launch box (google is your friend).

I did the majority of my good research on fuckcombustion.com (a ton of knowledge there and some uber vaping geeks that will explain the finer points)

Vapes range from $20-$600. You will need to chose a model for yourself that is good at the type of vaping that will be doing. Some are very efficient, some give monster hits, some are small, some can blow up bags/etc. Once you get to the $100-200 range, they all get very good. As with everything there is a price point and quality point -- you need to chose where you fit in that scale. It will become clear as you do a bit of reading.

If you've never vaped before, I suggest you try it and judge the quality of the high for yourself. I find it a very clean high -- definitely less of that burnout feeling even if I smoke all day long. I much prefer it to smoking -- and this coming from a pack a day ciggy smoker for 15yrs (quit 1.5yrs ago), so there's no doubt that I very much enjoyed smoking anything! There is a minority of folks that say it's lacking in some way, but I have not found that to apply to me. What I do notice is that it takes 3-5 minutes for the high to 'hit' rather than the instant bong rip effect -- I've read that much of that instant high effect is your body reacting to the huge amount of toxic smoke ingredients being inhaled. I don't reccomend the following for health, but: if you really think it's lacking, you can turn up the vape temp and bring the bud to and/or near combustion, heck, you can even smoke the ABV (already been vaped) weed...it will get you high, just more of the canaboid type (couch lock) and less thc (head high) as that's already been boiled off.

The coolest part -- you can cook w/the ABV. I made a batch of brownies with 1/4 of left over vaped material and they were VERY stoney.

Is it easy to setup? Sure -- it's not rocket science. Sometimes it requires an adapter if you want to get fancy. But I've just shoved a tube from the one to the other and it worked fine. The taste is sooo incredible, no resin is left over, bong stays sparkling clean -- other than the big of hash oil that eventually develops..but that can be harvested and is might tasty and potent.

Alright, this is getting long and I don't wanna sound like a fanboy. Read up, see if it's for you: fuckcombustion.com

G'luck.

those magic flight boxes are not worth 99 us dollars IMO. (about £60 for me)

they could be made for a lot less. the only thing i have trouble finding is "a 1.5v heating coil" that i can attach to a battery. you're only really paying for not having to build it yourself.
and IMO they look like they heat it up too fast/much...

but then again as soon as i have a spare £70 im buying one!

dammn nice lookin bong there sega

safest way? umm without crack on it or a cigarette afterwards?

Seriously I dont think its so dangerous to begin with....but your health concerns are valid so I would probably say eating it followed by a vaporizor

i woulda thought the least damanging WAY to consume would be to eat it / disolve in fat. that way at the worst you will put on some weight.

i guess the next would be make some green dragon with some hard alcohol

but neither will beat sparking up a nice fat blunt :)

I bought my vaporizer for 170 on amazon. It's by Vaporbrothers, which is the original box vape. Box vapes are efficient for personal use but not really communal since it takes longer to get high and has a cord so its hard to pass around. But I really really love it because I smoke everyday and also work out, and it won't make me feel like shit!
