Learning Self Control

The comfort of which my countrymen speak
Are comforts I can't afford
The destitution in every week
Leaves me searching for more

Dreaming of a beach on some far shore
Some alien sunset so beautifully adorned
By the birds that fly on the winds of desire
While turquoise waters calm the fire

Burning deep within you unsaited
A continuum of hate gone unabated
Consuming all in dispassionate haste
Leaving behind a bitter taste

The foutain of youth's sweet imitation
To trade the turth for inebriation
To live on thoughts and survive a famine
And in this fast my thoughts I examine

Pushing up to surface beneath
Needle pushed in for sweet release
Released disease and cured comatose sleep
The death you taste has come to maturity

The dark consumes but I stand shining bright
No costumes I shed my dead skin tonight
The mask I pull off to show the beast that lies inside
The wrath I rain down shall bide the time with the tide

You learn control at the tip of a knife
Learn it all the hard way your entire life
Ignore mistakes embrace hate and divorce fate
"God save my soul"? It's already too late...

PS.

Sorry for being an ass in this forum. The problem has been dealt with.

^^^ lol.

Yep, a well-written poem to be sure. :) How were you an ass in this forum though, if you don't mind my asking?

Long story short: Letting cravings get the better of me and throwing *self control* to the wind.
