I lean hard on you because you can take it
will take it,
the distance it needs to travel
expecting more but getting less
expectations even i cant fulfill.
of perfection
coupled with duty
that longing to raise others up and be raised myself through them

basket of glory basket of trash

one soils the other
poising my abilities.
until im just a mouth all angular teeth gnashing explicatives

when really its for your own good
im helping you
why cant you see that
god damn it get it right the first time, im tired of your mistakes.

mirrored in your eyes is the reflection of my uncle
younger somehow different yet familiar
a sense of sadness rings his eyes and that peculiar half formed smile
my smile
history has a gravity you cant ecsape from
pulling you in
impossing singularities and rules
vectors of new territory.

I think the fear of the new is no more than the discovery,
a sense of familiarity,
with the negative connotations
of past resemblances.

linking us ever forward in the line of progeny
so much potential so much energy saved up
to escape that well of gravity
into higher orbits
better worlds and places to explore and hand down
like knowledge from the gods
trickling ever so slightly into the hearts and minds of those we long to be with but cant quite grasp

ever elusive

ever saturated
with past

This poem, to me, speaks of friendship and why we need it.

Then again, I could be wrong, but I enjoyed the experience of reading it, nonetheless.

I love these two parts. I find this eludes alot of people (ever elusive) as well and so, lovely job capturing this. I like this piece alot.

wow, your use of words is really dynamic and graceful. It seems you are moving in the same channel as I, your words just flow so close to home and conjure up images without the slightest effort.
