Stimulants Leaky Pee, bad smell... but damn, I feel great.

Found this lovely forum on Google, hopefully someone can figure this one out for me.

So I'm currently scribed 20MG Adderal XR, and 20MG Adderal IR. I was without any harsh side effects for years and they worked great. Out of the blue when I was going to pick up a refill, my doctor decided 'Hey! Your scripts are working just fine, but lets try you on Vyvanse to see how it works for you.' He wasn't really giving me an ultimatum or anything, so I took as prescribed.. that is, until they stopped working throughout the entire day and I started taking more, and more, and before I knew it I was taking 4-5 a day, for 3-4 days and then a medication/sleep weekend.

The thing about Vyvanse is that it not only was incredibly addictive, but the more pills I took, it didn't do anything but gave me harsh side effects such as urinating frequently, being congested almost all the time, and it gave me this horrid cough I have to this day. I stopped taking them after a few weeks of that hell. I then asked my doctor to put me back on the Adderall as it was working just fine before the switch up.

I started taking the adderall again, and the symptoms I had from the Vyvanse lingered and now were happening on the Adderall. Needless to say, I feel great and my ADD is controlled, but I'm left with a penis that's leaking urine throughout the day, I'm coughing every 5-10 minutes from mucus-overload in my throat.

Does anybody have any solutions to said leaky penis and mucus-loaded throat side effects?

you're going to hear an echo of "go get medical attention" because that's the logical answer. people might be able to relate and/or give you advice but with those symptoms i'd be seeing a doctor asap and explaining the situation.

Need a little bit more information to fully understand the problem. How long have you been prescribed Amphetamine for ADD? What was your prescribed dose for the Vyvanse? Approx. how much fluids do you take in while on Vyvanse/Adderall?

Sometimes for no reason while im on Vyvanse I'll have a good few hearty coughs that sound like im trying to get the top part of my colon out of my mouth, but I also smoke Marijuana 1 or 2 times a day (as needed for arthritis pain), and about 10 or so cigarettes a day, so I can't say with any degree of certainty if it is from that.

When it comes to the congestion, usually when I first wake up my nose is quite stuffy, but about 45-60mins after I dose my Vyvanse.

When it comes to the incontinence concern I definitely can't relate to that. When I am on stimulants of ANY type, I, and almost every other stimulant user I know (that I've had this discussion with at least) find it extremely hard to start a flow of urine even when it feels like my bladder is about to burst.

I have been using prescription amphetamines on a (semi) daily basis, usually 1-2 days a week I dont take it, and have been for almost 2 years now. With that being said, I would definitely suggest visiting the doctors office about these problems, the urinary incontinence is definitely not a normal side affect of Amps, for me and the many people I know IRL who use them that is. (assuming you're not taking in a gallon of water every hour, which i would also advise against)

edit: After leaving the thread and re-reading the title and noticing the "bad smell" part, I have a final note. If you're urine is yellow (the darker the worse) and smells bad it means you aren't taking in enough H2O. If it is clear urine which smells bad it could very well be a Urinary Tract Infection, and I would recommend seeing a doctor as soon as you can. Hope I was able to help, or at least shed some light for ya.

Before the barrage of 'Seek medical attention' replies... I should have mentioned in my original post that I've been to two different urologists, my Nephrologist, and my primary.. all of which basically tell me that it's the stimulant in the medication that causes this with some people... and that if the symptoms are too much for me to go off the medication. I've had thousands in medical bills this year after all the tests I had done. 1 Cat scan, 2 ultrasounds, Pulmonary functions test, X-ray after x-ray. Nobody sees a thing, it's bloody annoying.

How long have you been prescribed Amphetamine for ADD?

A little over eight years now.

What was your prescribed dose for the Vyvanse?

He started me at Vyvanse.

Approx. how much fluids do you take in while on Vyvanse/Adderall?

I try and drink atleast 1/2 bottles of water each day. It's probably way less then I should be.

The coughs I get are clearing coughs from all the mucus in my throat lol.

This is the EXACT feeling I get... and it surely feels like I end up leaking after I finish and sit back down to work or something. My doctors said that this was also a side effect.

Would dehydration cause all of these symptoms though? I thought about this too because I know I don't drink enough and my urine is yellow. And about the smell. It's not there when I'm on a medicine weekend, but now there when I'm on the medicine. I'm almost 100% positive that it's the leaking urine. Nobody has complained about it, or even mentioned it... so this might just be one of those heightened smells people always talk about.

And 1/2 bottle of water is about a 1/10th of what you should be drinking a day. Dehydration is a very real danger.

NT is right, 1/2 a bottle of water is not nearly enough, especially if you are using AMPS, because those dehydrate you.

What I do is, drink enough water so my mouth has plenty of saliva. If your mouth is dry, you need to drink water till its moist.

Weird. I'll only find it hard to urinate on opiates/buprenorphine. Stimulants make it very easy for me to take a leak.

^me as well. I do have to pee more frequently on stims though. To the OP I recommend drinking about 4-5x the amount of water you drink currently. That may be the cause of your problems.

if i take quite a bit of adderall, my dick shrinks a good 2 inches and i usually have to sit down to pee because i basically get like a rock hard boner the size of my soft dick you know...like the boner extends back inside my dick awning..

anyway yea idk why you would be leaking urine man, unless you have been holding alot of piss...amps are vasoconstrictors, make your veins(and urethra) constrict(smaller) thus making your heart beat harder and make it harder to squeeze out a piss..

However i also noticed that when i got incredibley fucked up on hydromorphone, i had drank about 3 20 oz. sprites and had to piss like a mother fucker but i could not piss...kinda ruined my(would have been) nod because i was worried my bladder was gonna blow..fuck

Yep, when the ol' ladykiller shrivels up from blood leaving the extremities, hard to force a complete drain out of the urethra. A little will dribble out, nature of the beast, but the walking around equivalent of laying in the wet spot on the bed. I hate it.
Get hyped enough, a load can force itself out following the urine stream. Had it happen many times, busting a loogie into a urinal out of my limp noodle or micro-boner(AKA 'tweaker dick', or in the UK olden days, 'Speed Willy').

And yes, any of this beats opiate/oids giving you the urine constipation. That's worse than nausea from the strong ones. Wasted many an hour over a toilet doing absolutely nothing due to opiates.
Those give you a really weak stream too, then cuts itself off, but it's not really like anything is closed off. Amphetamines is like an IV point hooked up to the nozzle of a fire hose. Opiates are more like, it just doesn't care to let that piss go, even when you really need to. Some type of muscle relaxation in the system has always been my guess

i finnd when im on opiates and i can't piss, siting down does wonders. a little feminine, but it works. sorry kinda off topic
