What's the best laxative to use for constipation from opioid use?

I'm using codeine and already constipated and now the doctor wants me on 900mg iron a day due to my severe aneamia.... The constipation from both is going to be hell.

First you gotta make sure you drink plenty of water, you don't need to go crazy 4-5 8 oz glasses should be enough (2-3 500mL water bottles). No remedy will help if your dehydrated.

If you want something kind of natural miralax is good. It's a powder you add to a drink and it help add additional water to the process making movement looser and easier.

There's also stimulant based laxatives I've never used them so I'm not sure. Personally coffee has always worked well enough for me, I used miralax when I got on subs a little then I guess I adjusted. It definitely worked for me.
