I watched The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things, based on JT LeRoy's (fake) autobiography. It was better than I thought it would be. I fucking LOVE hot ass Asia Argento (who starred, directed, and wrote the screenplay) :)

RRARRRR. She looked like a hot Courtney Love in the movie.
Oh, and the original score by Sonic Youth kicked ass.

Ah, only just seen this post 8)

This is actually one of my favourite films. Asia Argento is an amazing woman. One of my idols actually. It seems there's nothing she can't do!. And yeah, she's hot too :D

You are W I C K E D!!!

Muriel's Wedding:

God knows how many times I've seen it now, but I never tire of it. And it was all because my friend quoted a line from it the other day. And so naturally I had an overwhelming urge to watch it again.

"You are W I C K E D!. Well stick with me coz I'm wicked too..."

But my favourite scene of all is:

"I'm with Muriel" scene on youtube

Quality! :D

Both I and my father in law have been buying these bootleg DVDs they have in the nation where I now live. They have 16 movies, both cinema releases and all others by artist, or 15 of the same genre if the stars do not have a long filmography.

The last one I watched was last night and it was Hannibal, Die Hard 4 which for some reason is being marketed in Asia with a different title than America, "Die Hard 4.0" as opposed to "Live free or Die Hard/Die Hard 4." I also saw the rest of "300" which I has saw on the plane when I was flying from Taiwan to here. The flight was like an hour and a half so I did not finish it in flight. Anyway, these DVDs sell for about 1.25 US and are excellent quality, cut from reviewer copies, etc.

I think I will watch the rest of "Pan's Labrynith" tonight.

Strangers On A Train

The Music Box is showing it this week. I had never seen this wonderful movie before, and I'm glad I got to experience it in a theater. :)

I watched 15 minutes of Little Miss Sunshine, and then turned it off. Fucking unfunny, annoying, piece of garbage.

^ different strokes for different folks. i thought it was hilarious, but it was in a dry kind of subtle way. much like a lot of bill murray movies. are you a fan of bill murray, because if so, i urge you to give little miss sunshine another chance!

oh and for me, the last movie i watched was f'n hilarious. and ended awesomely awesome!

Finally. Lovely movie. Also, I wont say one is better than the other blahblahblah like other people are wont to do. I love both this version and Kubricks just the same.

Desperately Seeking Susan:

I've been meaning to watch this again for a while now. When I was about 13 I was obsessed with Madonna and used to convince myself that EVERYTHING she did was great, simply because she did it. Anyway, as it turns out, this film isn't as bad as people make out. It's just typical 80's nonsense. But it has to be the best film Madonna ever did, which isn't really saying much tbh.

Anyway, my main reason for wanting to fill my mind with nostalgia is because there's a new musical opening in London in October. You guessed it, Desperately Seeking Susan, featuring the music of Blondie. Me and a friend have decided to give it a watch in November. And it's either gonna be great, or absolute shite:

good choice tribal girl! the years during and soon after where madonna had armpit hair and ate out of garbage cans were her best. she sucks now, and that is a lot coming from such a fan as i, and for as long....

i will have to check that one out iceberg slim, i have gone through decent american cinema of my type (murderdeathkill) and realizing britain has a lot to go on. they have some great stuff so far :)

I watched Equilibrium yesterday, fucking great movie. I had seen it a couple times already, but it has been awhile.

I love how you catch more things, and the movie just becomes better with each watch.

I wanted to watch "Paprika" but the sound wont work, lol. *Sigh*
