Caught this cutie on late night cable :) Watching Chinese idiosyncracies up on the big screen always makes me cringe as it reminds me too much of my own family ;)

Nic Cage is a Las Vegas (I see a trend here!) magician who is gifted with being able to see the future in 2 minute windows. Disengage the brain kind of stuff, as most Hollywood is, but I really quite liked it. Cage has a had a few ropey one's of late, but this is better by far.

"skeleton key"

it was ok, but not nearly as good of a surprise ending as they made it out to be in the previews.

Clean: Maggie Cheung is fading rock star trying to get off heroin and get custody of her child.

Weird cameos from Tricky, the guy from Mazzy Star, Canadian indie band Metric, and some guy from the Bad Seeds.

Has its moments, but some of the acting is pretty bad and the ending is weak. Plus, I never buy Chung as a recovering addict - she never seems particularly strung out. Take the H out, make her a stuck up rock star who's past her peak and can't live in the real world, and the story works quite well.

The Doors.

I love Oliver Stone, but don't really know what to make of it. A different film experience though, nonetheless.

Spectacular! First time seeing them. I am getting into these campy movies bigtime. Time to roll anudda one and put on something else!

Green Street Hooligans- Had potential but Elijah Wood is simply NOT a convincing football hooligan. I tended to think it was a poorly contrived attempt at an edgy, indie role for Elijah to shake off his Frodo Baggins image. Other than that, it was ok I guess...

The Fountain

loved it. but it was very sad, although the film's message is ultimately life-affirming, imo. will post a semi-review in the movie's thread.

the devil wears prada

it was ok... i'm pretty ADD when i watch movies, so i didn't really pay attention 100% of the time, but for the most part it was good.
