Dog Soldiers is a simple story about an Army platoon on exercise in Scotland who find themselves pitched against intelligent werewolves. The script is excellent, the characters believable and the werewolves are scary. Along with An American Werewolf in London, this is the BEST werewolf horror movie i have ever seen.

just about died laughing, we kept having 2 put the bong down cos our laughing was making the water hoot out all over the place
 
i heart huckabees.

i heard a lot of good things about this film, so i was excited to finally watch it. i was disappointed- it didn't do anything for me, and i was a psychology major in undergrad, so you'd expect me to like this one.
 
I just watched Crash...pretty intense and well done. I enjoyed it quite a bit.

This is one of the only movies to actually make me extremely nervous while watching it.
 
I watched "Sin City" on DVD on Friday night.

What an awesome movie! I wouldn't say it sucked you in emotionally, it was more comic-book-like. But very stylish... and I loved the black and white cinematography. Just uber cool.

This movie is emotional, intellectual, heart-wrenching and sadly beautiful. Charlotte Ayanna and Adrien Brody brilliant as always....writing, cinematography , musical score and direction is excellent.

March of the Penguins

It was a lot better than I had expected, I thought it was going to be some kids story but it was actually a cool documentry about penquins. Did you know they travel for miles and miles and miles and miles to get to their mating ground all in a straggled line ? They all line up and just follow this path it's fucking crazy to watch, like a mile of penguins all lined up and waddling through antarctica.

Transamerica

I caught TRANSAMERICA last week & enjoyed it. That's the one where Felicity Huffman (of TV's Desperate Housewives) stars as a man who is about to have the final operation to make him a woman (a penectomy...you know, losing your religion...visiting Rabbi I Kutcherpeckeroff). Just before the operation it turns out he/she has a son that was fathered during a drunken night many years ago. Hilarity ensues. It is the only movie I know of where the same actor plays the same character as BOTH sexes & ALSO has full frontal nudity as both sexes. Check it out.

I saw American Beauty on DVD last night....for the 2nd time. I love it, i love it, i LOVE IT. I even have that singular TRACK they use during all the poignant scenes , its in one of my Cafe del Mar discs.
First time I saw it 5 years ago I didnt get it. Now i do.
