RENT.
I adore the musical. The thing that I hated most about the movie wasn't what they axed, it's that you CANT have the reactions to the crowd, the cast feeding off of audience energy. There's something amazing about watching the cast get more and more into it as you get more and more into it, about watching as they slip character for just a second when the audience joins in with "Seasons of Love" or when they all moo at "Over the Moon" or when they all start crying when Angel dies. There's something amazing about watching as the cast picks up steam and gets into it when you're in a great audience. I've seen it a couple of times, and only saw it with a bad crowd once, and it's noticible when the audience isn't as into it as usual. But the movie, you don't have that energy, you don't have the chance for the cast to grin when everyone in the audience starts hollering over the one woman's solo in Seasons Of Love. But aside from that, I love the movie, when taken seperately from the musical, they changed and axed a lot of stuff, that I didn't like, but it's nessicary, I suppose.
