last movie you watched v. 2.0

on DVD. I love Adrian Lyne's work (especially Lolita, Nine and a Half weeks & Fatal Attraction which are all part of my DVD collection) and so I wasnt surprised that this one moved me a lot. Made me quite sad and achy tho :( but nevertheless, still very satisfied in the end.

I watched Zodiac.

And I was really enjoying it until I reached a point where I must have fallen asleep. I need to recap as I missed the end :X

Also, the Mark Ruffalo character kept reminding me of columbo =D

i remember reading the novel when it was released in small booklets once a month. i really dig this story, but some of the magic is lost on the translation. just some. can't wait till the Mist comes out (wow, just as i typed that the tv ad came on)

I watched about an hour of 2001 A Space Odyssey, but had to turn it off. Goddamn that shit was boring.

I know that its a classic, but I just couldnt take that shit any longer. I had never seen it before. Does it actually get better, because I just might give it another chance.

Both last night (movie night)

Sherrybaby: I love all Maggie Gyllenhaal's movies so I wasn't too surprised how much I adored her in this. She's an amazing actress.

Paths of Glory: Considering my dad routinely made me watch war movies with him, I'm surprised I hadn't seen this one yet. Great work. Very typical of early Kubrick.

change gears bro. it is a classic, but you gotta be in a very patient mood to really appreciate it. what do you think of classical music? can you dig it?

it's no scifi actioner man. it's intellectual bliss. pay attention to what is happening. it isn't spelled out for mass appeal.

Frank Darabont said that The Mist DVD will include two versions. Color and B&W. http://youtube.com/watch?v=-64pR2ARecY

i meant in cinemas. i just found out late last night that it has finally released. i'll probably catch it on cheapskate tuesday.

i have no idea what a B&W version would be like.

When I was watching the classical music scenes I was thinkin, "Yeah, that must have looked cool back then, but now it aint such hot shit."I just found those scenes kinda boring watching some ship float in the air, doing nothing, while some pretty music plays."

I did however like the scenes with the monkeys. I like how they were making the statement how we have come a long way from when monkeys learned how to use tool to humans living in space.

It just wasnt what I was really expecting, though. I am definitely going to give it another try though. I like intellectual films, that have a message and are trying to get a point across. I just couldnt take how they just started to talk about bullshit that didnt really seem relevant to anything at the time. I cant stand too much bullshit dialogue that doesnt seem to be going anywhere or lead to anything. I think I may have just been a little too impatient.

the space ships, they're dancing!

yeah that was awesome. the most brutality you'll ever see in a G rated film. and that cut from bone to military satellite is un-fucking-believably great.

It's all very relevant. The picture painted is one that connects prehistory, through present to the future with attitudes that we can recognise blended with fantastic technology (camera phone! wow!), all together spelling out a message of fantastic intrigue and incredible depth.

rest assured. it does pick up pace. gradually. and to a climax that you will not soon forget.
