Hey all...
I have this wierd shiznit happening with my SSRI intake (Effexor) and I was wondering if anyone could enlighten me.
Ever since I began taking them, (75mg a day) I have had large pupils, and felt like I was rollin. Not an overwhelming MDMA high, just like a buzz. It's trippin ma balls.
Sometimes i'll have large pupils, but this is all the time. You should see when I actually am rollin, I pretty much have the eyes of a shark.
Also, I do not get smaller pupils from opiates.

This is odd. SSRI's block the reuptake of serotonin - they don't release it, as drugs like ecstasy do. I've been taking SSRI's (fluoxetine and then citalopram) on and off for nearly a decade and never got dilated pupils from them.

And ... why do I feel like I'm rollin. I might upload a photo... seriously I have like 1m of colouration in my eyes.

Effexor isn't an SSRI. It's an SNRI. An SNRI inhibits the reuptake of serotonin and norepinephrine. Norepinephrine transporters are also responsible for recycling dopamine, so an SNRI will also lead to increased levels of dopamine (but probably not much).

Anyhow, what else have you been using while taking the Effexor? Dilated pupils are a sign of serotonin syndrome. If you are also experiencing any sweating, shivering, tremor or increased heart rate, you should see a doctor immediately.

if he had seratonin syndrome he probably wouldnt feel like he was rolling.

i think its just the meds kicking in. dont worry, it all goes away soon enough and youll feel like shit agian

Just opiates about once a week (Poppy seeds).
And no i'm not experiencing any seretonin syndrome symptoms.
The Effexor is working great so far, feel almost 100% normal, and sometimes a lot better than normal!
Hopefully it doesn't wear off...
Anyone have any idea if it's possible to naturally increase endorphins and the like through exercise and diet and then come off of Effexor and feel pretty normal?

Alot of thiings will naturally increase endorphins, excercise, sex ect. but you can't do those constantly so Effexor might be a good option, no reason to jump off if it's working...
