Hello guys.
This is kinda embarrassing :ROFLMAO:, but taking opioids every day makes my constipation worse and realy bother me. I've always suffered from a little constipation somedays regardless of whether I take opioids or not.
I've read that lactulose can work and also It's also the only medicine I have at home. Do you recommend it?
I have had mixed results with changes in my diet, I alway eat more fiber (fruits, veggies, oatmal, whole wheat bread)yoguty and black coffee. What do you think?
Yesterday I took 2 tablespoons of 60mg. of lactulose (120 mg total), so hopefully it will do some effect on me today. I was also thinking of taking several vitamin C pills to get diarrhea hahaha :LOL:How do you deal with constipation from opioids my amigos?

I guess if you're lactose intolerant you could just drink a bunch of milk
upside down volcano guaranteed.

edit: this is not meant as a joke(well a bit), 70% of all people are lactose intolerant.

Sounds like my Kratom (in)experience. I'm not sure if I would call that constipation though.

„Constipation“ signifies one cannot get it out when inside there is a bag full of waste.

Post-Kratom binge it felt as if the green Maeng Da had all but eaten away the insides of my stomach. There was nothing for it to flush down the intestines. It felt as if I let a running tap open for a thousand years yet somehow the pipe was dripping with liquid in any case.

Best thing is movicol or laxido. They are sachets of osmotic laxative. Lactulose is good but i find you need a lot of it. If you take a sachet or 2 every 3rd day on opioids/opiates then you shouldn’t have any issues. It’ll keep ye right. Very important to take enough water too. With lactulose you need to make sure you’re drinking lots of water. With the sachets you need to mix up a bigish glass of water.

What about vaseline? It's pretty cheap here unlike movicol.
Vaseline? Lol what!? As in the petroleum jelly? For your butt?! Haha!! Doesn’t hurt to have I guess!

In all seriousness though, being constipated all the time is not good for you. Not only does it increase your chance of bowel cancer it also puts so much pressure on your rectum. You’ll get haemorrhoids which are a total bitch! Anal fissures and tears etc etc. Honestly it’s worth the money for movicol to not have to deal with those issues and you only have to take a sachet every few days or so just to keep yourself regular or at least to soften the stool. Or if you get this situation sorted with the movicol then use lactulose during the week to keep yourself regular. Either way, if you use opioids/opiates every day then osmotic laxatives are something everyone should also be taking. I don’t know one dr here that doesn’t also prescribe an osmotic laxative with opioids.

For me and this might sound gross but i normally wait for an hr or less and then i can feel i need to take a dump. Yeah its painfull as the plug "first hard piece of shit" comes out but after that it flows and then after i would do my opiates again. I normallly go 2 days without taking a dump but after that i can feel the build up then just wait it out even if i feel dope sick but still wait till my bowl movements wants to start, after having a decent or very uncomfortable shit then i know im good to go for another day or two, sorry for the graffic picture or mind picture but thats how i deal with my constipation and so far works every time, maybe im just lucky in that sense

Wow that sounds terrible.
I will definitely have to spend money on something good to avoid future problems.

Thanks for your kind help @PrincessDiz

About Vaseline (I know it's funny but in Chile it's quite popular hahaha): https://www.webmd.com/drugs/2/drug-153865/mineral-oil-laxative-oral/details

Ah right well if it’s popular there then use away. The main thing is to have some sort of laxative when taking opioids.

You’re welcome! Everybody poops! Haha

Lactulose is nasty shit, no pun intended. I've never had worse stomach cramps that I got from lactulose.

Proper hydration, whole fruit smoothies with Mirafiber, magnesium supplements, daily exercise, and colace as needed takes care of all but the most severe constipation. Diabetic candy is easy to find and can be a highly effective laxative in a pinch.

Yeah pal. Today I was gassy and bloated all day thanks to that thing, but at least I was able to take a good shit. My lactulose has a pineapple flavor so it's quite delicious but the effects are indeed nasty.
I'm eating bars that come with added fiber (about 10 grams per bar. Holy shit!!). I guess that can help me.

Lactulose is generally what is prescribed in the UK to short term and long term opioid prescribed patients, for several reasons. It can be very gentle or can clear a severe blockage, depending on the dosage. It can be taken everyday, forever, without causing "tolerance". That is, it will continue to work but it will not cause the peristalsis in your colon to slow down causing lazy colon, or damage the colon's haustral folds that can make it hard to shit properly without the drugs, which is a risk with many stimulant laxatives. It both softens and lubricates faeces, drawing water into the colon, making a hard stool much easier to pass. This also helps to stimulate peristalsis by its bulking effect, counteracting the slowing effect opioids have. It isn't absorbed into the body, unlike milk of magnesia for example, which can have some other effects on the body. Lactulose can give you wind/gas and make your stomach gurgle a bit, but this usually diminishes quite quickly and usually isn't a problem with small doses. Large doses can be very unpleasant however, but this is true of a lot of laxatives.

A starting dose of 120ml is very high! The usual dose is 15ml twice a day, so you took 4 times the recommended starting dose. IMO 10ml 3 times a day is much easier in terms of side effects, you'll probably not notice any. It might take 1 or 2 days to fully work, but will be much more gentle. After that, taking 30ml 2 or 3 times a week is sufficient to maintain you without running into bloating, cramps or diarrhoea. On the days you do take it, split the 30ml into 2 x 15ml doses 12 hours apart.

Once you clear the initial blockage, you should try and incorporate Psyllium AKA Metamucil in your diet. Chances are you won't need the lactulose except on rare occassions if you take Psyllium regularly.

Back when I was abusing poppy pods hard, if I didn't take a small dose of lactulose around twice a week, I would end up not taking a shit for anywhere between 4 to 8 days. Needless to say passing such a monster shit felt like pushing out a log of concrete and took a ton of work, usually involving an enema and lubricating my ringpiece and inside of my ass with copious Vaseline. Even then it still involved much straining, pain and blood. FWIW squatting on the toilet seat makes it loads easier, I still squat, as whilst I don't need lactulose anymore, I am on methadone and I have mild constipation which can make some stools harder to pass if I were to sit "normally". I'd probably need to take lactulose if I didn't squat.

Anyway, the point of this TMI shitpost is that taken properly, lactulose and/or Psyllium can work in the background without you even being aware of it. It'll help you shit, keep you regular without noticeable side effects and spare you the pain and embarrassment of having to coax a huge solid turd out of your ass with enemas, lube and your fingers. It should be in the toolbox for any opioid user.

Great post bro.
Because of that large dose, I get too bloated and gassy all day lol  but finally I was able to take a good shit.
I can take I also have phenolphthalein as a laxative but I don't know if that will work or what side effects it may have.
Thanks for your advices mate. I will definitely follow them. (y)
