I started collecting Wild Lettuce (Lactuca virosa) in my backyard this year. I've been drying the leaves in my oven at about 200 degrees F for a little over fifteen minutes and adding it to my rollies. I really enjoy the smell of this stuff after it's been dried, it seems like it would be good on a pizza maybe (I tried cooking fresh leaves numerous times but it is just too bitter for my liking, even with butter and spices and rice and stuff).

I've noticed that I am smoking less cigarettes and I definitely do notice a subtle effect, especially if I smoke one after I smoke some ganja.

I have yet to try the resinous extract but as I was collecting leaves a few days ago I dug up some of the roots as well. Maybe 5-7 of them, all about 2-4 inches long depending on the plant. Well I chopped up the roots and they have been sitting in a mixture of Olive oil and water (non-alcoholic tincture) for almost 5 days now. I've searched all over but I cannot find out any information about the constituents of the root.

The leaves contain N-methyl-β-phenethylamine, Coumarin (toxin), and lactucopicrin / lactucin (both of which are sesquiterpene lactones.

a little help, here? I've searched on botanical.com, wikipedia, erowid, a bunch of university plant profile sites but there's just not any info on this.

I love how some people are so quick to shoot everyone down on this site. . Just because I don't have 1000+ posts doesn't mean I'm a newbie. I know the difference between placebo and an actual subtle effect, ham.

to put it so you can understand...No, I'm not getting fucked up, trying to get fucked up or planning on getting fucked up on legal herbs. By subtle effect I mean I feel more relaxed afterwards.

people are pissing me off on here acting like I'm posting questions like "HEY, IF I SMOKE PINE NEEDLES WILL I GET FUCKED UP LOLOL"

god damn. I need a smoke.

I agree totally but your avator of a 15 year old boy does not contribute to credability.

Also it has been disputed if this botanical has any real psychoactive effect, just the act of inhaling smoke has a mellowing effect on many if not most people.

I'm not shooting your experience down because of your post count, your avatar or anything else irrelevant. I'm shooting it down because of your method.

There are thousands of reports of people reporting "subtle" (read: placebo) effects on it's own, then adding some weed to it and noticing a great enhancement.

Cannabis is the great deluder. It convinces people that they're having heart attacks, that their friends hate them, that this tastes better (it doesn't, you're just hungrier), etc, etc.

If the only time you can report having a "non-subtle" high from a drug is when you're also smoking it on cannabis, your report has no value, you've only told us that it's inactive and done so in a longer way.

The only thing that cannabis seems to *actually* make stronger is dissociatives.
