Lack of creativity after getting sober...

I used to love to draw and write when I was younger. Once I started doing drugs I was drawing a lot more and experienced a total surge of creativity during those years. Now that I have been sober for quite sometime I am experiencing a lack of creativity in all arenas. I try to pick up a pencil to draw or write and I never keep the pen down that long. It's gotten a little better lately, but not much. Has anyone else experienced this? Do you have any tips about how you got out of it if you did? Just curious on people's thoughts. Thanks!

I'd assume its like anything else when one gets clean/sober, you are used to doing it in a certain mindstate and now you are trying it in a different one. So that means you need to practice it and get used to it in this mind state.

I am not the most creative person in the world, but I do like to write and study various issues and current events and then write articles on them. I stopped doing that for a long time when I was using but started doing it again when I had about six months clean and its been pretty fun.
