LA County says Ecstasy flyer needs revision

Anyone else think its bullshit that politicians wont allow harm reduction?

To them its either black or white. This really pisses me off.

Last year at the Electronic Daisy Carnival in Los Angeles, we had an unfortunate incident where a 15 year old girl snuck into a rave, took too many adulterated pills, and died from heat exhaustion. She was the only death out of 150,000 people, Had these fliers been passed out her life might have been saved.

Instead we have a group of people in office who are so ignorant to the younger generation that they would like to pretend that such concepts of safe drug use are a fallacy. It really fucking sucks. Some people are going to use drugs with or without consent, its a given. Why cant they be properly instructed on how to minimize damage?

Due to the commision board of the Collisium and capacity issues, the CEO of Insomniac events has made the decision to take the event entirely out of Los Angeles and into a new Venue in Las Vegas. Las Vegas is happy to accept the business it will bring.

LA Just lost $33 Million dollars in Revenue and 4000 jobs. Its ridiculous to think that this all could have been prevented if better safety measure were allowed to be promoted...

Now due to the media blowing a small event out of proportion the entire event has been swept away as if it will solve the problem.

Is anyone else frusterated?

Ive never heard of "ecstasy brain death" due to the drug depriving the brain of oxygen. This is all so weird..

I think the word you're looking for is false, incorrect, wrong, misinformation. You get the idea.

This is like the abstinence only campaign- stupid. You can't expect kids to not have sex and you can't expect kids to not do drugs.
 
fuck stupid 15 year old girls that cant handle themselves her own fault not the fault of the EDC, her mistakes will hinder cali which is already in a bad enough state as it is.
 
I think moving EDC to the desert (where the best raves were IMO) is going to make it a more enjoyable experience for many, provided it's done right.

Considering the city wants to shut the event down at 2 am, and has motivated Insomniac to ban light shows altogether, this is probably a positive move, and I'm actually happy Insomniac has said "enough" and is taking is $ elsewhere. The city won't learn until it hurts their wallets.

Music festivals of all genres attract drug use. To proceed as though EDM attracts more drugs, or more harmful drugs, is ridiculous. If anything, I'm sure more people die from alcohol related deaths per year at these events than all illegal drugs combined. I've known of people who have died from alcohol poisoning at festivals and raves, but they've never made the news beyond small mentions on the radio or the town newspaper.

I think it's tragic that this young girl died, and there has been little responsibility put on her family who apparently had no idea she was there. I also find it ridiculous that her "friends" claimed she took MDMA, and that seems to be accepted as correct information. The toxicology report information I read never confirmed MDMA (and not another amphetamine) was actually in her system.
 
Screw it hand jobs to las vegas residents insted of los angeles residents. How about san bernardino edc? Oh well im still going vegas or not ill be there!
 
How do you know for a fact she took "adulterated pills"?
She died from respiratory failure wich is the common amongst ecstacy overdoses.
Of course nobody dies directly from the chemical but they die from things that are caused by ecstscy. This grey area is annoying. Just because mdma itself didnt kill her, what the mdma did to her body killed her. Of course she should have not put herself in that situation but we got to stop blaming her and adulterated pills. Cause we really dont know anything about it.
 
They never released the actual report, just gave out some vague information- different news articles painted slightly different pictures of what the results were, but ultimately it was her "friends" who claimed that she had taken pills sold to her as MDMA.
 
i haz seen/read aboot your brain swelling and dieing THAT way but i aint know bout oxygen deprivation

Hell, a shit load of the people that go to EDC in Cali are from Vegas.
