Kratom's duration...safe?

I have to drive to work, but want to take low doses of kratom before working. Can I make the tea, drink it right when I get in at 8:00am and be sober enough to drive by 5:30-6:00pm? I used the search for "kratom duration" and "how long does kratom last" and googled and checked erowid but no firm answers. It's Bali if it matters. thanks
 
hell yeah dude your good. shit im a courier and i drive on kratom, tramadol, vics,oxy all the time....
 
its the shortest latest high ever (opiate-wise, or pseudo-opiate-wise). its similar to codeine in duration. ~1.5-2.5hours
 
Ah, really? I assumed it would be like the pods. At least this stuff is easier to use, still nasty though. How does redosing work for it?
 
nothing like pods. pods are almost as good as heroin yet lasts 5-7 hours.

kratom is almost as good as tramadol.
 
The high is short 2, max 3 hours, but the hangover is long-lasting (one day?).
 
I've had fun to mixed to nauseous to terrible experiences with pods. My body now associates its flavor and taste with warm drain cleaner. Too bad :(
 
Oh, yeah Kratom's aftereffects are long aren't they, won't those affect my ability to drive too, even if I'm not high? Granted, I've done it stoned every other day or so

No, when the high is over you are technically able to drive. You feel nauseous, that's all. Provided you don't projectile-vomit your windscreen so that you can't see through it any more.
 
yeah and you feel really REALLY fucking irritable. you hate everybody for no reason at all but you HATE THEM when you are coming down and for maybe 30 minutes after its over. you just want to be alone, so it sucks doing it with a friend at that point unless you smoke a lot of pot or just kinda do your own thing each for a little while because a fight is inevitable if conversation is started and that is known between my friend and i after many kratom experiences in the desparation of oxycodone/morphine-less days and weeks of addicted life.
 
If you have no opiate tolerance, you should probably wait at least 4-6 hours after dosing on kratom before driving. I find kratom to be slightly impairing if you take a lot. It is vaguely similar to alcohol in some ways. I only experienced this when I had no opiate tolerance and I took a really large dose of kratom to see how high the plant would get me. I found it eventually just got me sick instead of high and that a moderate dose is optimal.
I have used kratom as a withdrawal aid and I was able to function and drive just fine. It helped me out a lot. I probably would have missed a week of work were it not for kratom. Unfortunately when I ran out of kratom I still suffered acute w/d, but only for a couple days.
