Hi ya'all. Does anyone know if taking a few kratom capsules (a gram total ) would help extend my 3 pills of oxycodone per day i have trying to limit myself too for a week or two? Appreciate any ideas. JS
Ok, so you feel that skipping a dose of my oxy, and replace with kratom? I only have 3, 15mg Mallinckrodt oxy's per day....I'm trying to take 2 oxys in the am, and the last one between 6pm and 11pm. So you can see my need(want) to extend the oxy...Thank you. Can you clarify for me si vu play...i feel it will personally
may have to take a little more but a g is a good place to start imo.
try skippin a dose and dosing the k instead to try the experiment...?
peace
I personally wouldn't do it because then ur body might really like that combo and then ur just gonna have more problems. I've seen too many people say they won't get addicted to something and then do it and bam.Hi ya'all. SF, why is long term kratom use inadvisable? I genuinely want to know as I have legitimate pain needs and I'm scripted like 6 x 30mg codeine pills a day and sometimes take up to 8 on a rough day (a total of 180-240mg codeine with 3-4g acetaminophen - the latter of which I'm seriously worried about with respect to liver function). I can't always be fucked to do a CWE every day either to mitigate such high APAP intake.I would highly recommend you avoid kratom unless you have genuine pain needs like the oxy isnt enough to work.
It should only be used temporarily.
Kratom will also cause both cross tolerance and occupies the receptor as an antagonist. It will lower the euphoric effect of oxy, especially if used repeatedly.
It can certainly be used to bridge a script, I just really don't advise long term use of kratom.
I've used it for 18 years but never had to worry about cross tollerance to opioidsSF, why is long term kratom use inadvisable? When I take Kratom, I use leaf, but I use daily and I use a lot (about 20g per day). I find it far more efficacious than my co-codamol and the WDs don't suck as bad as codeine. I legitimately prefer Kratom to codeine (the main bummer is having to pay for it, whereas my codeine is covered with state health insurance).
Just for clarity, I don't use codeine and kratom concurrently.
An almost pain free day for me requires 20g kratom, 300mg pregabalin and 4-10mg valium in a day. A few drinks/joints on the odd day helps too, but I hardly drink these days.
Sry for piggybacking OP.
Agreed. Pregabalin and Kratom have great synergy, but have risk factors. If I want to get high I up it to 600mg pregabalin + 20g Kratom and 3-4 beers/glasses of wine + 1-3 spliffs.I've used it for 18 years but never had to worry about cross tollerance to opioids
The other meds your describing is a combo that is hard to beat [apart from weed]
Pregabalin and kratom feels great together
Although probably not a safe one lol
