Kratom Working Suprisingly Well??

To start off, here's a little background info:
-I'm 21, 5'3", and 120lbs. I've had an opiate/opioid addiction for 3 years. I would use any opiate I could get: hydrocodone, oxycodone, oxymorphone, morphine, etc.. Dosages range from 80-150 of hydro/ morphine/ oxycodone &up to 60mgs oxymorphone. For the past 3 months I would only dose once a day, ex: 120mgs of oxycodone at once &no more until 24 hrs later. I have been through Suboxone treatment, but unfortunately it's not for me...

This is my second time "seriously" trying to kick opiates &I have decided to use Kratom as part of my arsenal against withdrawals. I had heard not to expect it to be a "miracle" cure. That it would not make me feel like I had just downed some pain pills, but it would simply alleviate, such as benzos do.

Today is day 2, and I don't have any withdrawal symptoms except maybe a bit of lethargy. No pain, no sweats, no teary eyes. The only mild symptom is the sleep issues, which my amitriptyline & diazepam is working quite well against.

It's effectiveness came as a suprise to me as usually I would be in withdrawals in less that 12 hours if I hadn't had a large dose of opiates as mentioned above. - meaning, when I was using, if I only took 30mgs of hydrocodone instead of upwards of 80, I would be in withdrawals less than 12 hours later.

Just wondering if anyone else has had this much success with Kratom, seeing as It's working even better than I expected it to.

Also this is my first post so if I did anything wrong please let me know.
Thanks :)

I assume when you're talking about oral being your ROA in the first paragraph?

Kratom can be used really well as a maintenance therapy for opioids or of course to just kick. Doesn't work nearly as well as buprenorphine or methadone or another opioid for most people, but for a lot it does (if it was more widely available this might be different though).

I've used kratom recreationally on its own, both with a tolerance and without, as well as on its own and with other stuff. I've used it to kick and, well, you know. If you've been using kratom to kick a habit of using 120mg of oxycodone even if you're just taking that once a day via oral roa the kratom honestly isn't going to make a huge different. The kick is going to suck, although the kratom might certainly take an edge off (I'd rather kick using benzos or use bupe or something in that situation).

If you mean you started incorporating kratom into your daily opioid dosing regiment, so you can take less opioids, this is interesting. That sounds like a great way to taper down and I've heard of people doing that. Kratom can be a funky drug at different dosages etc, including with it a bit of speediness that some people (alas not myself) love.

I like kratom because it's milder than methdone or buperenorphine if I'm trying to maintain or kick, but for the same reason (and others, such as tolerance and dosing issues with kratom) this makes kratom's use somewhat limited. Mixing kratom into the picture before the kick or transition to kratom/detox drugs to kick sounds like the best plan. The closest I used for that was the following:

I used 7OH, an alkaloid in the leaf that's approximately the same mg for mg (from 0-20mg at least) as oxycodone, to detox once. I'd been using about 80-160mg of oral morphine daily for 120+ days. I began by lowering my dose, which sucked, but brought it down to a consistent 60mg/day of oral morphine for a month. Then every other day I used some of the kratom alkaloid (it would have been equivalent to a higher dose of high quality kratom, with less nausea though hehe!). I did that for a week and felt amazing! Then I kept cutting my morphine dose in half every 8 days, until at 15mg, I jumped completely onto the kratom alkaloid. I kept up with that for another 14 or so and just jumped off. Pretty easy kick discomfort wise. Would have been even easier if I spent another week or two with a much less lowered kratom equiv dose or skipped days with that after detoxing from the morphine initially, but meh.

Then again, I'd rather suffer suffer SUFFER for a couple days, get it all over with, and go about my business quicker than take my time. Means I have to make plans because, without the proper taper/detox aids, Ill be pretty incapacitated, but it's also not like anyone every really caught on either.
