Hi all,

i know there are quite a few threads on Kratom withdrawal and i think i have read them all,but still have a few questions that i would like answered that i didn`t find in other threads.

So i`ve had a Kratom habit before and found the withdrawal different each time, yes there were many of the same symptoms, but these were different in their severity and duration. This time i have made my way through just over a Kilo of mixed strains of powdered leaf in about 7 weeks and am now coming to the end,so i`m tapering down as much as is bearable.

I`ve had addictions in the past to Heroin and a whole host of other opiates but had a Methadone program for those which then tapered down to dihydrocodiene,Kratom is in my experience different to come off of,it has it`s own unique withdrawal symptoms, its nowhere as bad as the opiates but still pretty shitty in its own right...So now i`m full of fear as the end is in sight,a lot of the withdrawal is psychological and manifests itself in physical symptoms,if you can overcome that and are in a good headspace and are positive then withdrawal should be a hell of a lot easier.

Before i have just gone cold turkey and used red wine to help, but this time i want to have it as comfortable a withdrawal as possible,so i`ve got myself some Phenibut and a whole bunch of supplements, which i use on a day to day basis anyway. What i`m going to add to the withdrawal is Rhodiola rosea,Siberian Ginseng and some Kanna, these three in combination should help with the depression, low energy and motivation.

The one thing that i will miss is the way that Kratom makes really mundane tasks, like my job,a lot more bearable,in fact i love the way Kratom gives me the lift that i need,to me it`s one of the best antidepressants you can get,it gets me motivated and sociable, gives me really good feelings of wellbeing and generally has an overall positive effect, the only downside for me is after prolonged use of high amounts is the paranoia, like very mild paranoid schizophrenic symptoms and also the whole thing of being addicted or dependant on it,this i do not like.

So has anyone got any good recommendations on what can be effectively used on a Kratom withdrawal? I`ve also heard of Mulungu bark being very effective.

Thanks
Phoenix.

Hey Phoenix,

I am/was an experienced Kratom User. Maybe not nearly as much as your intakes indicate but I had a few "rebounds" myself and would highly suggest to use some Gabapentin over the first week of your wd.
If Gaba nearly kills all symptoms from a Tilidine withdrawl it may be pretty helpful with Kratom even if you mentioned the more specific symptoms. I never had Gpt during my Escapades with the nasty-tasty-powders, so I can't talk from experience in that particular case but I bet it would be an immense aid.

Good Luck, and keep us informed.

Sounds like you were taking kratom because it made doing boring shit like work that much better. I really enjoyed the productiveness I got out of it also. Your on the right track, just get through it and it will be over. What your probably realizing is withdrawal, no matter how mild always sucks. My best advice would be to get used to doing stuff like going to work without the added boost you were getting from kratom. The ginseng should give you extra energy.

I'm curious how long you plan on taking the phenobut? The reason your getting paranoid is because kratom hits the adrenic receptors, the same ones that cause you to get adrenaline. Anyways you might find that you feel a lot better once you've been off it for two weeks or so. Just make it two weeks without it and you'll be good. If you have problems with energy at that point just push through it and take some vitamins. Just be careful with the phenbut and only take it when you really need it. You dont want to mess with your gaba receptors to much.
