Kratom to be banned soon by DEA! How will it affect USA? v All kratom talk goes here!

It'll vanish. I doubt that it'll be sold on the street...there isn't enough money to be made off it. It'll share a similar fate to khat, I'd imagine...perhaps possible to find in some small, isolated drug using communities but definitely no longer widely available.

A terrible development, to be sure...I've personally known people, myself included, who benefited from this substance.
 
Haha yeah, I used to joke that I was doing a public service by destroying all those unwanted drugs with my body ;)

Kratom tastes so nasty and has little results. But its likely my tolerance Can you tell me the best kind to get. They have it all over AZ FOR NOW.

Does kratom really work with opiate withdrawals? Ive heard different opinions but i have heard some people swear by it for withdrawals. Ive taken it before, not for withdrawals, but just to see what all the talk was about and it didnt do anything to me, not that i noticed anyway.
 
Yes it works great for withdrawals. I am so upset over this ban and just when I thought the USA was starting to go in the right direction with marijuana laws finally being overturned.

I don't have a garbage disposal and I'd be worried to throw it out in a random garbage and get caught on camera or it traced to me in general.

Like I said, I could slowly and gradually throw away the Kratom handful by handful in the garbage and I'd ASSUME that couldn't be traced to me or flush SMALL amounts at a time but too much would clog the sewer.

But I am also asking would you guys personally store Kratom in your family's house if you had no other option knowing that puts them at risk??

Doesn't that feel kind of wrong?

I'm just extremely upset over this.

This stuff helped with my anxiety and depression better than anything else and it provides the best high I know of while still leaving me functional.

I wish I had never been introduced to it just 2 years ago to literally fall in love with it and have it taken away.

It feels like some kind of horrible break up or something.

And to those who expected things to change regarding other substances because weed is gradually becoming decriminalized, no offense but that's naive.

The DEA and our fucked up government and really pretty much the entire world demonizes most substances which get you high or inebriated other than alcohol.

Once any drug becomes popular enough the government will find a reason (mainly MONEY) to take it away from us.

Nothing has changed in our government and their overall opinion regarding drugs...NOTHING AT ALL...and it probably never will.

The DEA SHOULD NOT EVEN EXIST AT ALL, and ALL drugs should be legalized, even the most addictive and harmful cause what you want to put in your own body is your own business so long as you are an adult and aren't driving or operating heavy machinery.

But our government and governments in general use the guise of "protecting us from ourselves" in order to profit from this.

They couldn't let a plant remain legal that could hurt big pharma or save heroin addicts and have them make less money off jailing opiate addicts.

Uh, no offense to you but the fact that its being banned would seem to me to make this the most logical time to get some before the ban. Even better since he wants to use it to come off heroin, the ban will prevent him from ever developing a long term kratom habit (which is the main risk of using kratom or suboxone as a withdrawal aid). So what could be a better time to use kratom to quit H than now?

are you afraid he will fall in love with kratom and then get super depressed about the ban or something? I dont understand your thinking at all.

I'm just not thinking straight right now, not only cause of this but I was already not feeling well physically and mentally before this happened.

So forget I said that.
 
No worries man, I am not thinking straight either. I am really heartbroken over this ban and some other recent events in my life.

IMO it's better than nothing, at least, if some kind of taper plan is how you want to kick opiates/opioids. I've given it to a couple friends of mine and have gotten back generally favorable reviews, although not RAVE reviews...but they tended to say that it helped. Two people in particular, one a veteran tar smoker and the other an old guy who was prescribed oxycodone & morphine (on top of the tar which he injected regularly)...so not exactly people with small baby habits when it came to opiates.

But it's kind of a "your mileage may vary" thing.
 
1. What's the risk or harm to public with kratom for its scheduling?

2. When is the ban and is it in the States or Canada as well?

p.s. maybe a petition will help keep it legal, arguably because its a plant.
