When I was taking a LOT of tramadol.. upwards of 800 mg a day .. when I would go into withdrawal.. all I would have to do is pop into my local mom n pop pharmacy and grab a bottle of cheratussin ac this otc codeine syrup would keep well easily for 2-3 days ..
Fast forward.. I thought I was was Doing better by switching from a pharmaceutical (Tramadol) to a Natural substitute (Kratom) but now after taking kratom only for about a year .. now when I get sick. the codeine won't even cover the withdrawals unless I take the whole bottle in a day.. Is it possible that Kratom has Raised my Tolerance beyond the amount the ungodly amount of tramadol I use to take did?

you've just kept increasing your tolerance is all. kratom has many alkaloids, some are antagonists that may decrease tolerance, this is why people take stem and vein kratom powder, to reduce tolerance somehow and it works. It all depends on strain, potency but in general, kratom has never given me a withdrawal anywhere close to morphine, it's on par with codeine imo. I don't think kratom has increased your tolerance dramatically, it's just that you've now been on opiods for that long that codeine just isn't going to cut it at the same dose that you did 6 months ago. This would happen even if you switched from tramadol to codeine itself.

as well kratom has other alkaloids that act as stimulants, so when you are substituting codeine, codeine is not going to have any activity where the kratom would.

yeah that's a Very good assessment robotripper.. It kinda reminds me of an herbal version of tramadol minus the serotonin reuptake.. but the norepinephrine is definitely there albiet in a much smaller amount.. I enjoyed Tramadol for it's SNRI like qualities and the extremely mild opiod-like thing going on.. so Kratom was a fairly decent substitute but not quite as Functional..
Guess it's time to try to shut this Opi train down for a bit.. levels are getting a bit excessive although this is easier said than done..
it's not like I've been Iv-ing morphine or heroin or even snorting oxy for that matter.. should be do-able even though it will be uncomfortable.. my worst symptom is Horrible RLS and lethargy.. I know that pales in comparison to what some of the more experienced users get from Withdrawals.. but I literally feel like Stabbing my fucking legs after a day or so of it.. Maybe I'm just whiney.. and if I knew how much worse it could get.. that I would be shocked and quit while I'm ahead

^^ Personally from using decent Kratom extracts my tolerance was such that 400mg codeine on 3 seperate tries hardly provided anything barely noticeable...

Just by taking pure, decent kratom powder, my tolerance was high enough that it took 250mgs/dose of Tramadol to get proper effects back in the days. And keeping in mind that the daily dose of Tram normally shouldn't exceed 400mgs, i think that those 250mgs were a lot.

Nowadays i usually "need" 100-150mgs of Tramadol, since i'm trying to keep my tolerance low.

yep i can agree on the RLS, just makes me want to cut them off, wait till you get restless arms as well, that's fucking bad. kratom is a strange drug, i most certainly notice the RLS coming off it though but that's about it. Try some loperamide for that, should ease the pain by quite a bit and you can quit kratom pretty easily with loperamide.

lol restless arms, never heard of that, but that's a good way to put it! shit man that stuff sucked. it would always be in my elbow area, and i would pound it with my fist so icouldn't feel it. im so glad im not physically addicted to opiates anymore

to op yes it did same thing to me, kratom is mildy strong; kratom extracts are strong though. and those withdraws suck too.

I don't think 800 mg is very extreme the max high dose recommended is 600/day & that's "being safe" per physicians. So 800 is high but prob not life-threatening, at least in the short term. Maybe LFT's are in order to chk liver, or what works quite well is milk thistle to help protect liver. I took at least 600/d for yrs & was OK.
Don't kno bout WD's, I never had them w Tram, none that I detected.
