Opioids Kratom Mega Thread v. 5

I've read some post that quitting Kratom for only a week resets tolerance. Can anyone tell me if it is really that quick? I know with traditional opiates, it can take months to lower tolerance. I'm just curious what other's experience with this has been. I am taking a break until this weekend and wonder if my tolerance will be lowered that quickly. Thanks!

Not for me AT ALL.

I quit for 90 days and it only cut my tolerance in half from needing an ounce in a single dose to 14 grams in a dose.

Yes, my tolerance was in fact THAT high lol.

But it all depends on personal chemistry, tolerance, quality of what you were using, and probably all kinds of other things like body fat percentage and who knows what else.

IMO though stopping for a week will not do much other than get rid of most if not all WD symptoms but probably not reset tolerance much in MOST people usually.

Yeah it is gone. Shouldn't be hard to get on the black market tho, it's legal in Indonesia and canada, ect.. I wouldn't think it would cost much more on the black market. Suboxone is still gonna be cheaper though, as it is now, per mg equivalency.

You REALLY think it shouldn't be hard to get on the black market IN THE U.S.???

I REALLY HOPE you are right but I very much doubt it.

I mean it will certainly be much harder to get if available at all than your typical illegal drugs like weed, coke, heroin, even shrooms and LSD.

Maybe if you have really great connections and know the right people but I only know your typical drug dealers and I don't think I'll be lucky enough to find it again.

I wish I could, but I have to be honest with myself.

Maybe someday it will make a comeback, but I don't even think your average drug dealer in the U.S. who sells other shit has any idea at all what it is.

Maybe in other countries but not here.

^ yeah, but u gotta be prepared to be committed to PST so I hear. Its long buzz makes for a long withdrawal. Right guys(PST users)??

Yeah pretty much but finding good reliable unwashed seeds these days is a pain.

I am now 24 hours in on my first break from Kratom after using for 6 weeks. I have to say that unless I take a turn for the worse suddenly, Kratom is very forgiving (at least initially). I do believe that long-term use would probably cause extreme psychological withdrawal that have the potential to be hellish. Even tho I have zero physical symptoms, not even a runny nose, I feel very slight anxiety. That could probably definitely get worse over time.

I get very very mild physical symptoms for maybe a day or two at ~12 g/day. Just a couple days off helps alot with tolerance for me. It's really different for everyone. I think the psychological aspect (depression, lethargy) is the worst but even that is relatively mild.

Good luck!

Also the DEA only temporarily scheduled mitragynine because temporarily scheduling is the only thing currently within the scope of their authority. The idea is to allow research ti catch up before letting people use the drug, but in reality, they're putting the brakes kn research by scheduling. Also, in the next few years they'll probably fund some abuse studies at hand picked laboratories. People will say that kratom is pleasurable, instant schedule 1 since there hasnt been (and won't be) extensive clinical trials for an FDA approved medicinal benefit. In America, anything that is remotely pleasurable is also illegal without a doctors prescription.

Three cheers for america and our drug laws! Hip hip hooray!

People likt you are the reasson it is scheduled, you should not complain about expected effects and nothing will be banned.

Haven't looked back too far but the DEA has requested to ban Kratom effective September 30. This is truly f'ed up considering UNADULTERATED Kratom is relatively innocuous compared to being stuck on opioid pain meds. I actually feel human again. So anyway without complaining too much just wanted to give folks here a heads up to A) sign the White House petition----

https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/please-do-not-make-kratom-schedule-i-substance (over 77,000 signatures so far!)

and B) If you can attend the Kratom March on DC Tuesday September 13---

http://kratommarchdc.com

there's a Facebook group named Kratom (New and Current Users) that's on fire with more information. PLEASE take some time to review this info. We need all the help we can get!!!

yes Kratom is scheduled because people whined about its Mild withdrawal symptoms. Even OtC meds do this. LOL you're a moron dude.

Guys. First, I hope the head shop owner I dealt with will not notice the schedule for a while. He gets fire. Anyway, I am at a loss for words, to why the fuck this is getting scheduled. The shit will go grey. Become friends with your local connect. I would want at least an ounce of this shit. More like 4oz.

Thank you!! Do you plan on tapering or just quitting when you run out? I'm assuming you live in the good ole USA.

So I would like to hear how others have dealt with coming off Kratom. I have been taking it orally, usually around 60g a day, for the last 5 months. I became such a slave to the stuff, I would start to feel bad within 5 hours if I didn't take it. Sweaty, dialated pupils, muscle aches, and I would wake up in withdrawal in the middle of each night and need to take more if I wanted to go back to sleep. So the time has come where I want to stop, totally. I don't take any other narcotics or drink, nor can I use drugs to withdrawal. I somewhat tapered the best I could and then stopped completely about 24 hours ago. I got some immodioum, some St. John's wart, and some other mood supporting supplements. I managed to sleep last night but had vivid dreams, was a little restless, and this morning I feel ok but very tired and weak. Is this going to get worse or have I expected it to be more intense than it really will be? How long till full withdrawals kick in, if at all? Any experience with doing this would be much apprciatated. Thanks!
All the literature I read around kratom is to start small. I could not imagine doing more than a teaspoon of the stuff for more than 2 or 3 times per week. Practice tapering and aim for no more than once a week to avoid dependence.

Heed the warnings, respect the plant leaf, avoid excess, and live life in balance. Can't spend your whole life dependent on a substance because it becomes a crutch.
It's the lack of knowledge of addiction, lack of self-restrain and abuse of (any) substances that leads to the scheduling we're seeing right now. I feel bad for people who cannot control themselves and ruin good things for the rest of the community. But it cannot be helped... it will always be a problem with anything that people find pleasure in.

Two words: Moderation & balance.

Practice those, and the quality of your life will improve.

As for the withdrawal symptoms, consider your own body and its desire for equilibrium. Shocking the body into withdrawal isn't a good feeling, so you need to do this gradually. This substance was popularized as a maintainence herb for opiate withdrawals. Start tapering your doses by half, and keep a healthy diet with pleanty of nutritious foods and fluids. Try to go as long as you can without drugs before re-dosing. You want to stop your dependence, so you'll have to distance yourself from the substance that put you into this state. Don't back track, if you haven't taken it for 2 days, don't go back down to 1 day, go to 3. If you haven't taken it for 12 hours, don't go to 6, bite the bullet and go to the next day. Your body will make you feel bad, but consider it as your body fighting to bring itself back to equilibrium. It'll take a while for your body to return to equilibrium, but if you shoot for a healthy lifestyle, and try to make it a reality bit by bit, step by step, you can overcome the physiological dependence within a few weeks, then work on the psychological dependence. But both go hand in hand. Keep a strong determination for fighting your urges and replace them with productive activities (exercise? conversations?) Something that'll stimulate your mind and distract you from your vice.
I just want to copy my post into this main thread.

Hey guys, I made a request to get a front page article in the Support forum without much response. Feel free to chime in if you think we ought to have something on the front page about this sudden scheduling:

http://bluelight.org/vb/threads/802...-the-ban-on-Kratom-and-a-link-to-the-petition

At this point, any exposure we can get would be helpful and would say things look hopeful that there's a viable challenge to this scheduling.

About withdrawal, one does tend to feel SOME withdrawal. I take anywhere from 7 - 10 grams a day at night just to wind down from my day and do some creative writing / take care of work stuff. I do get a bit antsy if I know I don't have it. Now I have to take other herbal supplements like valerian root just to get that level of winding down, lol. But it's not THE END of the frikin world! As far as I know I can always sleep, can always enter my creative space, function, etc...

What's really devastating is how little the US government seems to care about its people. It's truly, TRULY sad. :(

I just got an email from my vendor. Apparently, there is a peaceful protest/march at the White House on the 13th. The American Kratom Association has also hired a top notch legal team to block the emergency scheduling. I guess they will be duking it out. I do not think these efforts will work, but I admire the work being put forth to try and be heard.

Thank you!! Do you plan on tapering or just quitting when you run out? I'm assuming you live in the good ole USA.

Fortunately I halved my dsily usage right before the DEA released that statement. I'm considering stockpiling as much as possible and and just focus on getting off of every day use before 2017

Ahhh, so here is a harmless plant that has helped countless people get off of harder opiates and helped people (including me) get their life back...we better make it illegal.

Fucking retards in the government...uggh
