So I tried Kratom yesterday for the first time. Got it at the local headshop, one package was of 15x 5grams and the other was Maeng Da 3grams. I did the 5 gram package first in a t/w. It's nasty tasting stuff but I managed to t/w it w/o gagging.
After about 3 hours there was nothing...not even a "I wonder if this is something" so i did the Maeng Da. About 1 hour after that I started to feel an opiate-esque come up. In about 2 hours I was fully there. It's very close to an opiate feeling, like a very light dose of oxycodone 15mg or so. Very itchy though, also did not sleep all night. So the side effects were strong, like I had done a high dose of oxycodone, but the pleasure effects were like a light dose. Overall it was very nice and would definately do it again. 8grams seems like a high first dose, but I have no idea what quality the product I was getting was. I think it's very likely that ordering from a reputable on line source whose potency has been attested too and this would not have happened. But overall I was impressed and will definately keep this as part of my periodic relaxation repertoire.
