Opioids Kratom, Insecticides, Fertilizers.. Oh my!

You know what freaks me out most about Kratom?

The way it is grown, or more specifically the chemicals & fertilizers used in 3rd world countries. We could all be poisoning ourselves slowly and not even know it. Indonesia isn't exactly known for world health standards of the US & Europe. I would imagine ingesting as much Kratom as we are is not healthy. Heavy metals & toxins would definitely be present and in enough quantity this could lead to serious health problems.

This quote in particular is most troubling:

You live a perfectly healthy life outside of the odd bit of kratom then? Your taking an abstract quote about agriculture(zero specifics) and taking a giant leap. Don't be so paranoid. Worry about perfecting the things you can control.
 
do you smoke cigs? taking kratom with pesticides is no more dangerous than cigarettes.
 
If I start new thread it will be missing Pinpoints info. Looks like FDA found heavy metals in cancerous levels in a certain West coast US vendor's Kratom in 2019! Thoughts?

Let's not forget about toxic metals in the soil also which is common.

Asia isn't exactly known for producing grey market drugs of high purity and safety. They produce it the fastest and cheapest way possible...dont kid yourself thinking farmers in remote parts of asia care what chemicals are on your kratom.

I'm very surprised and mass spectrometric analysis for the contaminants of kratom jas not been carried out and published somewhere

In Asia are also a lot of people who truly care about nature and who just as much as I hate to see habitat's of Ape's disappearing. They practice sustainable agriculture and make use of the plants, like Mytragina. For which is great demand by monkey's from the west like us.

Lets assume they care about Ape's just as much as about our Monkey's. Offcourse that's wordplay 'monkey on your back' is reffering to addictivevness of Kratom.

And don't trust no one, including pharma industry and oneself.
 
^ until a hippie lectures you about the dangers of pills and that kratom is only a plant and not a drug. If you're nice to him you might even get to learn about the human brain producing dmt.

Look, it would be great if we all had access to pharmaceutically-pure opioids, but unfortunately that's not the case. Kratom seems like the least-bad option to me for those who want to get opiated *shrug
 
You ever sprayed one of those super insecticides flea killers i sprayd to much didnt let it ventilating properly, horrible horrible idea, the shit stuck to my skin and started sweating it out it made me feel like i was being electroctued especially my mouth ever since taking that fucking shit ive been super sensitive to similar stuff they are not natural and i would avoid fthem at all costs pestcies, insestides ff
 
Guess we all gotta go someway: Not like we aren't pumping (every second of every day) mercury and all kinds of sh** into the air we breath, the food we eat and the water we drink.
Not ecstatic about the thought of ingesting poisons but they used to spray (from a truck) all those awful toxins and we as kids would play and run around in it like we were in a fog.
Maybe that's my problem... nah... just need more toxins to negate the effects.
Interesting post and responses but I for one am already too far gone.

Yeah, you can go deep on the subject of contaminates in the industrial food system alone. The USDA doesn't seem like a particularly effective gov't agency at this point.

The problem w/ kratom specifically could be easily solved even within the private sector though, with some kind of Consumer Reports-style thing investigating various kratom products and what tests revealed about them. But of course the problem with THAT is the fact that the sword of prohibition is CONSTANTLY hanging over kratom's head from various gov't agencies (DEA, FDA, etc) & some states have already banned it, so it's in a kind of legal grey area. The only business I know of where I live (a city of several hundred thousand people) that openly sells kratom is also where you go to buy drug paraphernalia and hardcore pornography, so that's the context that kratom often exists in (unfortunately).

It's just so frustrating because 1) this information is knowable, and 2) consumers are interested.
