How much kratom to try giving a large dog for calming effect
My best friend has a very high strung German shepherd that weighs about 45 pounds.she is at her wits end and has tried just about everything to calm the dog down ( including training, cbd for pets, Benadryl with vet approval, Rx meds from the vet. Even per aroma therapy outlet plug-ins). Everything she’s tried either hasn’t worked or been too sedateing ( making her wonder if her pet will wake up)
If she doesn’t figure out something soon she might need to rehome the dog because it likes to damage things while she’s at work. Also the dog doesn’t do well strangers so pet sitters haven’t worked out.
So I suggested kratom and I have read a few articles that claim it’s safe and calming for dogs. The articles didn’t mention how to get the dosage right though. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.Thanks.
45lbs, talk about runt of the litter. I had a male German Shepard and he got to about 124lbs and was nice slim and trim after a diet and down to 100lbs.
Considering he was lazy and stupid, that helped.
But has this German Shepard been spayed, and how much exercise? What about some form of mental stimulation( mine was too stupid to care). Also the females are usually the calm ones.
Jen you had a crazy female German Shepard also? 45 lbs is medium small for a dog.
Does it have a doggie door to a fenced in backyard or does she have to hold it in, after her owner goes to work, works and then coming home to allow the dog to urinate or take a dump?
Part of the problem is knowing how to deal with German Shepards. They have to know they are not the alpha. Just look at them, they are as close looking to a wolf as you get.
No Kiely most dogs don't live 18 years, especially if they piss me off, just kidding. Some small breeds can live that long.
My decent sized male German Shepard, was lazy and stupid and had no desire for exercise. If your friend dumps her dog off at the pound, maybe she outta get a female golden retriever. Or some other breed she can handle
