I have a friend over who is a recovering opiate addict (4 weeks clean). Her cravings are really hitting her hard tonight. Would kratom give her some relief or would it just send her backwards on her road to recovery?

as an opiate user first hand I don't find kratom to really be anything at all like dope..but that's just me.

Kartom acts on opiate receptors and I would say if she is already 4 weeks clean it would be a setback, though not as bad as a lot of things she could do.

Still I would try to avoid it if at all possible.

Any drug use is a "set back" from sobriety after getting clean, but if your worried about withdrawls, the no, 1 day/dose of kratom will not give any w/d's.

First answer is don't do it b/c it kinda is an opiate and your clean so its a slippery slope.

Second answer is: if the person is dead set on taking something to get relief, then yes kratom is a good choice, better than codiene, tramadol, oxy, vicodan, heroin, poppy pods, etc... So its the best bad choice u could make I guess
