I ordered some completely legal kratom off the internet(s), and let me just say that this is the most pleasant surprise I've gotten out of a legal herb.

Yesterday I boiled 5 grams of powdered leaves over and over again (maybe 4 times) with new water each time until the last pour was almost clear. Then I proceeded to drink it (altogether maybe a liter) while it was still warm - the taste is not as bad as I would have expected. In 15 minutes my tongue and throat got this semi-numb and chilly feeling. A little while after that i started to feel like I was on dose of hydrocodone, but I had energy too - not dirty, caffeine energy that makes my armpits sweat - but cool energy where I'm just relaxed but focused enough to nail my case study for class.

My mood was definitely elevated - i was cheerful but not delusional-cheerful (i.e. "everything is great in the world"). It's not a druggy feel, either. it just eliminated my fatigue, is the best way to put it.

I highly recommend this stuff - it also has some pretty good antioxidants, according to my wikipedia learnings. The only thing stopping me from making this a daily or weekly thing is the price, which is basically just a little too much (and I'm too broke to waste money on recreational drugs anyways).

I'm pretty fond of kratom and some of the good extracts out there......... really compares to oxycodone for me. (i take very high doses.....tolerance is an issue)

Next time, try mixing your dose(ground or finely crushed) with some applesauce and just eating it..... makes a world of difference over tea, as not all of the alkaloids appear to be immediately soluble in water.

yeah, i would compare it more closely to oxy than hydrocodone. It really does have a hard opiate effect, but it's somehow different. For instance, slowed breathing is not an issue. As far as chewing the leaves straight, I tried that also but it didn't seem to have much effect - it's possible my system digested it too quickly and spit it back out before any magic happened - I was on my third cup of coffee when I experimented with that method.

if you consume the solids it's about 4x as strong (ime) and different, more opiate like. it's a heavier/dizzier buzz.

i take 2g-4g eaten in a paste (honey, pudding, w/e) w a chaser
vs
+12g to make a good shot of tea

so eating the solids, it works out to be pretty cheap. i'd say it's a good value.
