So I have been communicating with a certain kratom vendor by e-mail and I have been informed that the US government is putting pressure on Indonesian kratom producers to label their packages so that US customs can intercept and confiscate this still legal substance. This could mean massive restrictions on kratom and the possible eventual criminalization of kratom it seems, that is, in the USA land of the unfree and home of the close-minded. :X

So I thought I would let people know that the days of kratom may be numbered. Has anyone else heard about this recent effort to curtail the use of this beneficial and relatively benign plant? I am very concerned about this. Kratom has become my drug of choice. Not only that, but I have given up all other substances, (okay besides caffiene) since kratom seemed to satisfy my needs. I was somewhat content with it. Its not all great, there is the constant battle between desire to use and desire to keep tolerance low. But overall, even if I consider my usage and addiction, it was a manageable addiction that gave me something to look forward to and reward myself with. :\

Now I am looking at a possible world where this supreme source of joy is gone. I doubt very much that kratom of any quality would be available after criminalization. Its a tree that requires very specific conditions and requires years of growth for production. Furthermore, it doesn't have the market to become a drug anyone would sell illegally for a profit in my opinion. What should I do? Should I progress to poppy seed tea? Should I start smoking weed again? Should I just use mild herbs like kava and damiana? Should I try to grow poppies? Should I start on a coca leaf habit? Should I begin sober living? I don't know what to do. I feel like the somewhat happy world that I have created is falling apart. It was too good to be true. I don't want to go on to more addictive substances but I don't really want to smoke weed anymore. But I also don't want to be sober. First world problem right here but any suggestions, thoughts or information on kratom in general or my specific "problem", as mild and uninteresting as it is I'm sure, would be awesome. Thanks guys. :)

knew thatd happen eventually.. anything that makes us happy eventually gets banned by the government. like prostitution =D

id suggest something thatll still give you that high your looking for, but nothing too addictive.. cocoa leaf..ehh worst case scenario you could end up having basically a coke addiction. not cool bro. Weed never got me going, i couldnt see paying for something that made me pay more to eat food when i got hungry. i wouldnt grow poppies. growing anything leads to bad things.

id suggest doing the poppy seed tea i guess. i heard it isnt too bad. Good luck with your decision :)

i highly doubt the vendor knows what he's talking about. The story doesn't make a whole lot of sense. The government knows about kratom, it's not hard to find out, no one gives a shit though, it's not well known enough to cause any issues. Look how long RCs were rampant in the US, everyone knows about bath salts and herbal blends and it took forever to outlaw.

i don't suggest poppy seed tea, if you're happy with kratom then stay with it. I just quit poppy seed tea and will use kratom instead. I'll be shocked if kratom ever gets outlawed.

I'm sorry but I don't think this thread meets our guidelines, we don't allow legal discussion, especially speculation on legalities, we don't allow purely speculative threads, and we don't allow asking people what drugs you should take. Please PM me if you have any questions. Thanks.
